Brad Alexander Biography

Brad is the composer of DOG MAN: THE MUSICAL (book and lyrics by Kevin Del Aguila), which recently completed its extended Off-Broadway premiere at the Lucille Lortel and tours the US and Canada 2019-2020.

He's currently lead composer for the upcoming CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG (Scholastic/Amazon/PBS Kids) and wrote the music for SEE ROCK CITY & OTHER DESTINATIONS (book and lyrics by Adam Mathias), recipient of The Richard Rodgers Award, The BMI Foundation Jerry Bock Award, and Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Book of a Musical.

Brad scored five episodes of PBS’s Emmy Award-winning PEG + CAT and VH1’s “Celebreality” campaign, and he wrote the music for Theaterworks USA shows CLICK, CLACK, MOO (Drama Desk, Lortel nom), JUST SO STORIES, MARTHA SPEAKS and songs for DUCK FOR PRESIDENT, FLY GUY and WE THE PEOPLE (Lortel nom).

In development: BREAD AND ROSES (book and lyrics by Jill Abramovitz), featured in NYMF as a Developmental Reading (2016) and Amas Musical Theatre’s “Dare To Be Different” series (2017); untitled musical (book by Erik Jackson, lyrics by Jill Abramovitz), developed at Musical Theatre Factory (2016-17) and The Johnny Mercer Writers' Colony at Goodspeed (2018).

Brad is a member of NAMT, The Dramatists Guild and BMI Workshop.

Orlando Repertory Theatre will join in partnership with TheaterWorksUSA bringing three productions to Orlando REP stages during 2022-2023.  After a successful presentation of TheaterWorksUSA's The Pout-Pout Fish earlier this year, a full season partnership brings Dog Man: The Musical, Click, Clack, Moo, and The Lightning Thief: Theater for Young Audiences Edition to Orlando family audiences. Orlando REP's full 2022-2023 Season will be announced soon.
