Iconoclast Theatre Collective (The World to Come; GRINDR The Opera) will be celebrating theatre, community, and new musical development with a party to be held at the Dickens (783 8th Ave) on Tuesday, April 18th, beginning at 7:00pm.

In a continued commitment to create innovative access to theater education and entertainment for young people, TheaterWorksUSA launches TWUSA.TV, a new streaming channel featuring three primary viewing opportunities to play, watch, and learn.

TheaterWorksUSA has mounted a fully staged, socially distanced live production of WE THE PEOPLE: AMERICA ROCKS! Filmed live (without an audience) on the Paper Mill Playhouse stage on October 4, and produced in association with Paper Mill Playhouse, the capture will be streamed to families across the country.

If you have kids, or just a love of children's theater, you may have noticed that TheaterWorksUSA-and, yes, after a rebranding, that is how to write it-is not presenting its free summer theater in New York this year. The program has happened almost every year since 1989, but not this one.

PITTSBURGH CLO is pleased to welcome a collection of writing teams from across the country to Pittsburgh for the inaugural SPARK festival in March. These teams were chosen from a highly-selective submissions process and will have the opportunity to rehearse and revise their work in residencies ranging from two days to three weeks. SPARK will provide dramaturgy and production resources to 10 new musicals at all stages of development, in addition to the world premiere of UP AND AWAY. As a part of the development period, eight of the musicals will receive public presentations through which the writing teams can gather audience insights and focus their intentions for the next phase of development. A major initiative of Pittsburgh CLO's recently completed Next Generation Capital Campaign, SPARK is designed to cultivate new and innovative work from emerging and established musical theater artists. 

Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash hit musical School of Rock - The Musical will welcome four new adult cast members to the show this November.

Refuge Theatre Project has announced leadership changes and programming for its third season, according to company co-founder Ross Egan. Christopher Pazdernik, who directed and choreographed the company's breakout production of High Fidelity: The Musical in February 2016 and more recently directed the Chicago premiere of Wicked City by Chad Beguelin and Matthew Sklar for Chicago Theatre Workshop, has been named Artistic Director, a position previously held by Egan. Egan, who founded the company two years ago with Morgan Egan, will move to Executive Director, a new position. Morgan Egan will continue as Managing Director.

Adam Overett's new musical The Double-Threat Trio gets first full workshop presentation with the University of Oklahoma Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre at Norman's historic Sooner Theatre on Saturday, September 24th at 11am. Admission is free.

On Monday, June 27, A LITTLE NEW MUSIC debuted in its new venue, the historic Catalina Jazz Club, showcasing the best of new musical theatre songwriting with an incredible cast of Broadway and LA talent. Comedian, actress, and writer Chris Farah ('Superstore,' 'Modern Family,' 'Chelsea Lately,' solo show/cult character FANCY!) hosted the evening alongside the ALNM band (Will Yanez, Eliana Athayde, and Alex Stickels) and resident musical director Bryan Blaskie.

A Little New Music (ALNM), now at the renowned Catalina Bar & Grill, invites Los Angeles to discover something new to love about musical theater. The Monday, June 27th concert marks ALNM's twelfth collaboration with emerging musical theater creators and performers from near and far.

Theatreworks USA will continue its 2016 weekend family performance series this Sunday April 3rd, with Henry and Mudge? was adapted by bookwriter/lyricist Kait Kerrigan and composer/lyricist Brian Lowdermilk (Jonathan Larson Award-winners) and is based on the best-selling books by Cynthia Rylant, illustrated by Sucie Stevenson. Henry and Mudge premiered Off-Broadway in July 2006 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. This 60-minute musical is recommended for ages 4 and up.

Theatreworks USA will continue its 2016 weekend family performance series this Saturday March 26th, with Seussical, a condensed one-act version for young audiences of the Broadway musical, adapted from the works of Dr. Seuss, the Off-Broadway premiere of Seussical was nominated for Outstanding Revival by the Lortel Awards in 2008

Theatreworks USA (Barbara Pasternack, Artistic Director; Ken Arthur, Producing Director) will continue its 2016 weekend family performance series Saturday, March 19th, with Junie B.'s Essential Survival Guide To School, the New York premiere of the new children's musical based on the best-selling series of books by Barbara Park(published by Random House Books for Young Readers), penned by Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich (Ever After, Dear Edwina). Featured in the cast are Lizzy Brooks, Gino Chaviano, Michelle Croll, Charles Engelsgjerd, and Annabelle Fox.

Theatreworks USA will continue its 2016 weekend family performance series this Sunday, March 13th, with Page Turner Adventures' THE MIXED-UP FAIRY TALE - hilarious storytelling with a touch of vaudeville, featuring Riley Roam as "World Famous Storyologist" Page Turner and former Ringling Bros. clown Kenny Mikey as her bumbling assistant.

Join Theatreworks USA on Monday, March 14th (6:30 PM to 9:30 PM), for a One-Night Only Benefit Cocktail Party at the dazzling Standard Hotel East Village Penthouse (25 Cooper Square). Mix and mingle with Theatreworks USA artists, members of the Board of Directors and donors high above Manhattan over drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and live performances, with the most spectacular views of New York City as the backdrop. Entertainment will be provided by some of Broadway's leading lights: Andrea Burns (On Your Feet), Adam Chanler-Berat (Peter and the Starcatcher), Kecia Lewis (Dreamgirls), Constantine Maroulis (Tony Award Nominee - Rock of Ages, 'American Idol'), and Margo Seibert (Rocky, Ever After). A team of more than 100 - including stars from Broadway, film, television, and music - will cast, write, compose, direct, rehearse, tech, and perform four original musicals - all in the obscenely short time between an evening meet-and-greet on Sunday, April 12 and show time tonight, April 13 at 8pm. The event benefits the Exchange's summer program, The Orchard Project, which incubates and accelerates innovative new theatrical work from around the world.

Tonight, October 9th, Broadway Sessions celebrates the music of Carner and Gregor, Loesel and Burkell, Joey Contreras, Jeff Thomson, Drew Gasparini and Adam Overett.

BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano.
