Anthony LaPaglia is an Australian actor who has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry with his impressive acting skills and versatility. Born on January 31, 1959, in Adelaide, South Australia, LaPaglia has been active in the industry since 1985.
LaPaglia began his acting career in Australia, appearing in various television shows and movies. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Joe in the critically acclaimed film "Bitter Harvest" in 1985. He continued to work in Australia for a few more years before making his move to the United States.
In 1990, LaPaglia made his Broadway debut in the play "A View from the Bridge" by Arthur Miller. He played the lead role of Eddie Carbone and received critical acclaim for his performance. He went on to win a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for his role in the play.
LaPaglia continued to work in theater, appearing in various productions such as "The Rose Tattoo" and "The Guys." He also made appearances in films such as "Empire Records," "The Client," and "Sweet and Lowdown." In 1997, he received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Barry "The Blade" Muldano in the film "Lantana."
In addition to his work in film and theater, LaPaglia has also made a name for himself on television. He starred in the hit television series "Without a Trace" from 2002 to 2009, playing the role of FBI agent Jack Malone. He received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in the show.
