Andrew Hungerford Biography

Andrew Hungerford is in his ninth season as Producing Artistic Director of Know Theatre of Cincinnati and fifteenth season as Know's resident scenic & lighting designer. His 250+ designs elsewhere have been seen at theatres including: New York Theatre Workshop, Cincinnati Playhouse, Cincinnati Shakespeare, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Portland Stage Company, The Flea, Under the Radar Festival, The Theatre @ Boston Court, Stanford Summer Theatre, Performance Network, Boarshead Theatre, Need Theatre, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and the Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca, Italy. Andrew holds degrees in theatre and astrophysics from Michigan State University, earned his MFA in lighting design from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) concludes its 60th Anniversary Season with its final Main Stage production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Know Theatre has announced the first mainstage production of the 2011?2012 Season, Gruesome Playground Injuries by Rajiv Joseph. The production will feature the same award winning artistic and production team as last season's opening production, Skin Tight. Gruesome Playground Injuries will be directed by Drew Fracher with Scenic and Lighting Design by Andrew Hungerford, Costume Design by Noelle Wedig, and Sound Design by Doug Borntrager. The production will star local actress Beth Harris and visiting actor Jens Rasmussen. Gruesome Playground Injuries will show today -November 5, 2011.
