Amber Weissert

Amber is a multi-faceted performer based in New York City!

Amber Weissert is an enthusiastic and dedicated performer. She prides herself in being a multidisciplinary artist, consistently using her talents as a choreographer, director, playwright, and educator in everything she does. She greatly values imparting a strengthened sense of empathy to audiences through her storytelling. Physical comedy is her specialty. She is a proud member of the AEA. Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, Amber has had the honor to work and train with the best of what Milwaukee's theatre scene has to offer. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Dance Performance Minor from The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
While Amber feels most at home on the stage, she has found a love for the arts off the stage as well. She has found passion in choreographing local productions, coaching audition work for undergrad and below-aged students, and teaching the next generation of artists as an educator with First Stage's Academy. She hopes to continue to explore these passions alongside her performance career. With the arts to the side, Amber's passion lies in eating soup, drawing cartoon characters, and developing her play "Echo". Amber has been working on 'Echo' for the better part of four years and is excited to continue to share this story with audiences. She most recently directed 'Echo' at the 2025 New York Theatre Festival where she won Best Director and Best Overall Production. She is also the proud recipient of the 2023 BWW regional award for Best Choreography for her work in THE SECRET GARDEN with Lake Country Playhouse.
