THE CONJURORS' CLUB is an immersive virtual experience in which the audience gets to see their fellow patrons on the zoom screen, try their hand at sleight of hand, and have a close-up view of the tricks and illusions as the magicians ply their trade live. It may be the best opportunity you could ever have to “catch” how they do it, but here’s the one spoiler in my review: don’t count on it.

Wonders never cease. Especially at Public Arts, the Lower East Side's chic performance space nestled within Ian Schrager's Public Hotel. Since opening last summer, the venue has attracted an eclectic base of night-life aficionados by featuring a magically diverse slate of performers. Recent guests have been treated to the likes of Riz MC, Patti Smith, Lena Hall and A$AP Rocky.

Cabaret patroness Madame Mathieu has selected Broadway's Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Lysistrata Jones, Hairspray), and Marrick Smith (Fun Home, "The Lennon Report") as the guests of honor at the sixth edition of the Bistro Awards Critics' Pick Madame Mathieu's Soiree. This will be her final soiree of 2016.
