Four County Players Announces Upcoming Shows And Events

Just a reminder that this Saturday, June 12 is the final day of our spring clean up days. We will be gathering at Four County Players at 10 AM and working until 2PM. Please plan to join us. Respond and let us know so we can make sure we have plenty of lunch for all!!

Four County Players is pleased to present the East Coast premiere of DOUBLES: THE HISTORY OF MEN AND WOMEN. This wonderful play is a comic history of men and women. The stories span over 10,000 years, from cavemen to the future. Four actors each play six roles, with every scene a different time and place, each representing a stage of a man/woman relationship. Add in Some Supreme Being and her press agent to provide narration, and you have a fun night for all!

This marks the second production in the Cellar, the new black box theater in the lower level of Four County Players. The Cellar seats around 50, and is used to showcase more "adult" productions, as well as new plays and a place for directors--both experienced and inexperienced--to be creative and collaborative. In addition to theatrical productions, the Cellar is a perfect venue for intimate concerts, stand-up comedy, improv, workshops, classes, and more.

DOUBLES was written by Ted Kopulos, a playwright and actor from San Jose, California. He had written several theatrical adaptations of other stories, but wanted to create his own characters - so, partly inspired by the comic strip B.C., he wrote DOUBLES, his first original play.

This production of DOUBLES is directed by Geri Carlson Sauls, marking her area directorial debut. Her past credits in the area include performances in Four County Players' Oliver! and Live Arts' Gypsy, as well as choreography for Four County's recent sold-out production of Cabaret. The cast of DOUBLES includes Martyn Kyle, Michelle Majorin, Marty Moore, Melissa Renee Neeley, Sara Shotwell, and J. Stoll.

DOUBLES runs in the Cellar on June 18, 19, 25, and 26 at 8PM. All tickets are $10, and may be purchased in advance or at the door.
