So begins 'Hate Mail,' Bill Corbett's and Kira Obolensky's epistolary alternative to A. R. Gurney's 'Love Letters.' Corbett and Obolensky were 'originally inspired by two things: 1) the idea of doing a parody of 'Love Letters' (which was produced in 2009 by the Boca Raton Theatre Guild), and 2) the intriguing possibility of writing it in actual correspondence between two authors.

NBC's hit competition series 'Minute to Win It' will hold more open casting calls next month in Detroit (December 4), New York (December 11) and Miami (December 11). As previously announced, the hit series heads to Las Vegas this Saturday, November 20, for open auditions at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino.

This year, in celebration of the Christmas season, Surfside Players, Cocoa Beach, presents the familiar classic A CHRISTMAS CAROL as a Radio-On-Stage event, adapted by Anthony E. Palermo. The Golden Age of Radio in the 1940's had skilled voice actors performing a show live in the studio before an audience of sponsors and VIP's. In 2010, the patrons of Surfside's playhouse are the VIP's.

The starry concert features composer Frank Wildhorn at the piano along with some of Broadway's finest voices. Further details will be announced soon. The show, to be held on December 21st at 8 p.m. in the Mertz Theatre, replaces the Holiday concert originally scheduled. Details and prices will soon be released latter this month. On Saturday, November 20, 2010, at 7 p.m., fifteen singers will perform at Studio @620 in St. Petersburg Opera's version of 'Opera Idol.' These young singers have been participating in a series of workshops led by Maestro Mark Sforzini in which they have received extensive coaching in interpretation and performance techniques. In addition to over 12 hours of group sessions, each singer worked with Maestro Sforzini one-on-one. These workshops and coachings were made possible by a generous gift from the Florida Suncoast Opera Guild, as part of their Education Sponsorship for the 2010-2011 Season of St. Petersburg Opera.
