This year, in celebration of the Christmas season, Surfside Players, Cocoa Beach, presents the familiar  classic A CHRISTMAS CAROL as a Radio-On-Stage event, adapted by Anthony E. Palermo.  The Golden Age of Radio in the 1940's had skilled voice actors performing a show live in the studio before an audience of sponsors and VIP's.  In 2010, the patrons of Surfside's playhouse are the VIP's.

A small cast will stand before microphones, in formal dress and with scripts in hand, and become multiple characters from the Charles Dickens classic, while sound effects will set the background and mood of 19th century London.  Carols will also be sung in the lobby before the show begins.  The show is directed by Joan Dunn.

Performances of Charles Dickens' CHRISTMAS CAROL - THE RADIO DRAMA are on December 10-19 (two weekends), Fridays and Saturdays 8:00pm, Sundays 2:00pm.  Admission is $10.  This show is appropriate for all ages.

Presented by special arrangement with Anthony E. Palermo of RuyaSonic Radio Dramas (www.ruyasonic.com).  To get to Surfside from the mainland, take 520 or 528 Eastbound to A1A southbound; OR take Pineda Causeway or 192 Eastbound to A1A northbound.  Drive into Cocoa Beach, and turn west on Fifth Street South.  For more information call (321) 783-3127 or visit www.surfsideplayers.com.
