Out of approximately 11,000 applications, 687 young artists from 46 states have been recognized for their outstanding work and accomplishments in one of ten disciplines across the literary, performing, visual and design arts fields. Theatre Ventures and Unique Features bring the Broadway musical ELF to the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami- Dade County from December 31 to January 5, 2014. To celebrate the arrival of ELF (and 2014), snow will rain down into the Center's Ziff Ballet Opera House lobby during intermission on opening night, December 31. The Lyons will run from today, December 6th through December 22nd, 2013, and Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins will play February 28th through March 16th, 2014. It will be the first time either of these plays has been produced in South Florida.

Produced by Tony Award-winner Normand Kurtz, who brought Broward audiences the record-breaking hit Too Jewish, WIESENTHAL tells the remarkable story of the life of Simon Wiesenthal, sometimes referred to as 'The Jewish James Bond.' Told with hope, humanity and humor, the play follows Wiesenthal as he addresses a group of visitors on his last day at the Jewish Documentation Center in Vienna. As he reflects on his life and work, Wiesenthal recounts how he faced Hitler's SS; how he endured the loss of family and friends; how he escaped a concentration camp only to be recaptured; and how, after liberation day, he began a remarkable journey for justice.
Manatee Players Partners with Manatee Children's Services for Christmas Toy Drive

The Manatee Players, Inc. is once again partnering with Manatee Children's Services, a Bradenton based community service that works to benefit our abused and neglected children, to collect toys and gifts for local children and teens. Last year, MCS helped provide Christmas gifts for over 200 young people and this year the need is even greater.
