Cirque Le Masque: CARNIVALE Comes To The Van Wezel 3/14

By: Feb. 19, 2010

Cirque Le Masque - the renowned troupe that reinvents the world of circus entertainment with a sophisticated, animal-free European-style spectacle - presents its newest production, Carnivale, at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on Sunday, Mar. 14th at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $35-$50 (with a limited number of "smart seats" priced
at $10).

The show features aerialists performing gasp-inducing acts of balance, grace, strength and detailed teamwork plus costumed jugglers, acrobats and comics, all set to spellbinding special effects and creatively inventive lighting, choreography and music.

In a review of Carnivale, the Boston Globe wrote, "Take the stylized look of Cirque du Soleil, set the scene in the romantic Carnivale of Rio de Janeiro, and heighten up the musical aspect, and the result is the impressive Cirque Le Masque." They added, "Even if you've seen other circuses, the proscenium-style setting of Cirque Le Masque creates a warmth and intimacy that gives the audience the feeling of being dangerously close to the performers."

The show is sponsored by Wilde Lexus of Sarasota.
