Boyd Gaming Announces Third Annual 'Trees Of Hope' Results

Thirty-three local nonprofit organizations that participated in Boyd Gaming's third annual 'Trees of Hope' tree-decorating competition were recognized today in a celebratory check presentation ceremony at The Orleans Showroom. Charities that decorated trees at Aliante, California, Cannery, Gold Coast, The Orleans, Sam's Town and Suncoast received prizes based on customer vote, with more than $40,000 awarded in total.

From Nov. 28 through Dec. 17, more than 167,000 votes were cast by Boyd Gaming customers at the seven participating properties in Las Vegas. Over 13,000 additional votes were cast in a separate social media contest online. Nonprofits were awarded a first-place prize of $2,000, second place of $1,500, third place of $1,000 and remaining charities each received $425 based on property votes. The social media contest awarded an additional prize pool to the top three performing charities valleywide with a $2,500 first-place prize, $1,500 second-place prize and $1,000 third-place prize.
