From September 1 to 4, 2025, Estonia will host the Estonian Contemporary Performing Arts Showcase, a premier event highlighting avant-garde theater and performance art. Organized by the Estonian Theatre Agency, this annual festival coincides with the renowned DRAAMA Festival, bringing together a diverse array of contemporary works.
The showcase serves as a platform for innovative performances that push the boundaries of traditional theater. Attendees can expect a curated selection of cutting-edge productions, offering insights into Estonia's vibrant performing arts scene.
Estonian Theatre Agency’s showcase is essentially a festival of contemporary performing arts that has been running annually since 2013. The festival program does not represent the mainstream of our theatrical art, and more classical examples of our word-based theater are generally excluded from the showcase format. The festival is mainly aimed at a few dozen guests, whose expectations and hopes for the festival are to find new contacts, partners, artists, and productions to invite to their festivals or theater houses.
