After the success of its first professional improvisation course, "Physicalization and Character Work," Sea Tea Improv will launch "The Scene." This class, taught by Joe Leonardo, will run from January 8th - February 26th in 2012.

The first class filled immediately with 16 eager students. That course, taught by the experienced teaching artist Summar Elguindy and assisted by the members of Sea Tea Improv, was the first of many in Sea Tea Improv's burgeoning education program.

"The Scene" will be an eight-week course held at the Hartford Children's Theatre carriage house and culminates in a short performance. Students will invent and refine theatrical scenes that are rich and consistent. They will also learn how to create, communicate and maintain objects within the environment of the scene.

Sea Tea Improv is also currently teaching successful improv teaching programs through the Hartford Stage, the Hebrew High School of New England HHNE, and Sacred Heart University. The troupe has also led workshops for a variety of audiences, including Toastmasters International, the Wethersfield Teen Company, and more.

To indicate interest in future Sea Tea Improv courses, students fill out an online form on seateaimprov.com. The troupe chooses course times based on potential student availability and experience.
