Great Lakes Theater (GLT), Cleveland's Classic Company, commences the second half its 2013-14 season with Noel Coward's comedy, Blithe Spirit. The production is performed in the company's revolutionary and audience-friendly home at the Hanna Theatre, PlayhouseSquare, February 22 - March 10. 2013. Who wrote THEODORA, SHE BITCH OF BYZANTIUM, TIMES SQUARE ANGEL, or VAMPIRE LESBIANS OF SODOM? Don't know? You are not alone. These, and more escapist romps with similar bizarre names, are the products of Charles Louis Busch, an American actor, playwright and female impersonator. Many of his works, including PSYCHO BEACH PARTY, which is now in production at Blank Canvas Theatre, were written specifically as vehicles for Busch and his camp style of acting.

The producers of the First National Tour of the new musical THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, announced today that single tickets will go on sale for the Cleveland engagement today, Feb. 22 at 8AM. Tickets begin at $35 and will be available at The PlayhouseSquare Ticket Office (1519 Euclid Avenue in downtown Cleveland) exclusively from 8 - 9 AM on Friday, Feb. 22. After 9AM, tickets will be released for sale online at www.PlayhouseSquare.org or by calling 216-241-6000. THE BOOK OF MORMON is part of the KeyBank Broadway Series at PlayhouseSquare.

Roller disco mania meets Mt. Olympus as the Upper School proudly presents Xanadu. This hit Broadway musical is based on the cult classic movie of the same name, which starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly. Xanadu follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time - the first roller disco (Hey, it's 1980!). But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation and chaos abounds.

Brett Mitchell Appointed Assistant Conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra

The Cleveland Orchestra announced today the appointment of Brett Mitchell as Assistant Conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra and Music Director of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra. The appointment is for a two-year term. Appointed by Franz Welser-Most, Mr. Mitchell joins the Orchestra's conducting staff in September, at the beginning of the 2013-14 season at Severance Hall.

Actor Norman Reedus, who was originally scheduled to appear on the panel, is no longer be able to attend.

For the first time in over a decade, Ohio State's School of Music presents Mozart'sRequiem Mass in D Minor at 3 pm Sunday, March 3 in Mershon Auditorium, 1871 North High St. Conducted by Robert Ward, director of choral activities, the powerful piece will bring together Ohio State's Chorale, Symphonic Choir, Men's Glee Club, Women's Glee Club, and Symphony Orchestra. In all, the performance will feature 252 vocalists and 35 orchestra members.
