Winner of four Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Bye Bye Birdie is one of the most memorable musicals of our time. A satire on American society in 1958, Bye Bye Birdie is set in the fictionAl Small town of Sweet Apple, Ohio. Conrad Birdie, an Elvis-inspired rock 'n' roll singer, has been drafted into the army. As a final farewell to his fans, the teen heartthrob is scheduled to sing a song ("One Last Kiss") and kiss his biggest female fan live on the Ed Sullivan Show - a last publicity stunt that sends his fans going wild!

With book by Michael Stewart, music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Lee Adams, Bye Bye Birdie features such musical theater favorites as Put On A Happy Face, One Boy, A Lot of Livin' to Do, and Kids!.

Directed by Russ Stich, Beck Center Youth Theater's production of Bye Bye Birdie features a cast of 56 talented young actors ages 7 to 19 who participate in arts education programs at Beck Center including dance, music and theater classes. ""This show is fast, funny and packed with great songs." remarked Stich. "It's been a lot of fun for everyone involved and I'm certain our audiences will enjoy it as well. There's something for everyone to relate to - this story is timeless." Birdie is just plain good old-fashioned fun for the entire family.

Tickets are $12 for Adults/Seniors and $10 for Children (18 and under) and may be purchased online at beckcenter.org or by calling 216.521.2540, ext. 10.
