Barbara and Dr. Ralph Lach Honored for Service to Arts, 4/30

By: May. 11, 2010

On Friday, April 30, approximately 300 guests attended the 2010 CAPA Gala at the Southern Theatre to honor long-time CAPA supporters Barbara and Dr. Ralph Lach. In tribute to their service to the central Ohio arts community, CAPA renamed the Ohio Theatre box office The Barbara and Dr. Ralph Lach Box Office at the Ohio Theatre.

Current CAPA Board Member Barbara Lach has served on the CAPA Board of Trustees for 30 years and is also a charter member of the CAPA Colleagues volunteers. She also serves on the boards of the Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Friends of the Ohio Governor's Residence and Heritage Garden, Lincoln Theatre Association, and the Jazz Arts Group.

A love of music and the arts brought Barbara and Dr. Ralph Lach together, and has been a hallmark of their marriage for 50 years. Putting down roots in Columbus in the 1960s, Ralph busied himself with a ground-breaking cardiology practice, and Barbara dedicated herself to a wide variety of civic organizations while building her own career as a top-selling Columbus realtor. Through the years, their contributions of time, talent, energy, and resources to CAPA and other Columbus arts organizations have improved civic life in a city where they have happily raised eight children. Barbara and Ralph have each touched and enhanced the lives of countless individuals across the Columbus community.

The Ohio Arts Council helped fund this program with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, education excellence, and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. CAPA also appreciates the support of the Abigail Simpson, Grace K. and Robert L. Rohe, and Martha G. Staub Funds of the Columbus Foundation, assisting donors and others in strengthening our community for the benefit of all of its citizens, and the Greater Columbus Arts Council, supporting the city's artists and arts organizations since 1973.

Owner/operator of downtown Columbus' magnificent, historic theatres (Ohio Theatre, Palace Theatre, Southern Theatre) and manager of the Riffe Center Theatre Complex, Lincoln Theatre, Valentine Theatre (Toledo, OH), and Shubert Theater (New Haven, CT), CAPA is a not-for-profit, award-winning presenter of national and international performing arts and entertainment now celebrating 40 years of service.
