Hangar Theatre continues its 39th Mainstage season with the regional premiere of 4000 Miles, a critically acclaimed comic drama by celebrated new playwright Amy Herzog. The winner of the 2012 Obie Award for Best New American Play, the 2012 Lucile Lortel Award, and the 2012 Off Broadway Alliance Award, 4000 Miles was also named TIME magazine's #1 Play of 2012 and was a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Starring Susan Blommaert (Broadway's Grease, Showtime's The Big C) as Vera and Robbie Tann(Troublemaker at Berkely Rep, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer at Actors Theatre of Louisville and The New Victory Theatre in New York) as Leo with emerging artists Paton Ashbrook and Jeena Yi to round out the cast. Cortland Repertory Theatre invites audiences to step back in time to the 1940's during their fourth show this summer with the charming musical comedy 'The 1940's Radio Hour'. Performances of this tuner will run from today, July 31st - August 10th with evening performances at 7:30. Matinees are available on August 2nd, 6th, and 7th at 2:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Tickets are also available for sale 24 hours a day through the CRT website at www.cortlandrep.org. The show is suitable for all ages and a wonderful way to introduce the younger generation to the classic music of the 1940's.

Christine Pedi performed recently at French Woods Summer camp for a one night concert. With Michael Martin Ward at the piano, Pedi sang all her famous tunes. Christine Pedi has a long association with the satirical revue Forbidden Broadway and a Drama Desk nomination for Forbidden Hollywood, having played both shows in New York, London and around the world.

From Aug. 8 - Sept. 1, Chenango River Theatre will be one of the first theatres in the country to present the new version of Ring of Fire, The Music of Johnny Cash (co-produced by The Raymond Corporation). Just updated this spring at Milwaukee Rep Theatre - a company well known for creating highly successful 'jukebox musicals' - the show is a living portrait of the Man in Black and features the iconic songbook of Johnny Cash in a unique musical about love and faith, struggle and success, rowdiness and redemption, and home and family.
Jen Waldman Named New Artistic Director of Hangar Theatre

After a nationwide search, the Hangar Theatre announces the appointment of Jen Waldman as Artistic Director. Her tenure will begin in mid-August when the theatre concludes its summer season. Waldman brings extensive Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theatre experience to her new role, having worked as a director, choreographer, actor, teacher, and movement coach based in New York City.

Broadway actress Michele Ragusa (Young Frankenstein, Urinetown, Ragtime) is no stranger to taking on major roles in the world of musical theater as she did when she took over for Megan Mullally in Young Frankenstein or when she was a replacement in Urinetown covering the roles of Penny and Hope. But now, Ragusa has taken on an iconic role that not only seems to suit her, but one that critics are raving about. The role, made famous by the legendary Ethel Merman is of course Mama Rose in Gypsy. Ragusa is currently playing the 'ultimate show business mother' at The Hangar Theater (which took home 9 awards at the 2012 Broadway World Awards) through this weekend.
