Harris Center Announces The 2018-19 Season Of Performing Arts

Featuring shows from around the world and shows from around the corner, the 2018-19 Season of Performing Arts at the Harris Center for the Arts are now on sale.

With the largest number of national Broadway tours coming to Stage One since the Harris Center opened in 2011, the venue will host a dynamic range of programming throughout the 2018-19 Season of Performing Arts with music, dance, theater and lectures all well-represented.

The Harris Center presents international touring artists like the Chinese Warriors of Peking and the Django Festival All-Stars; national tours of The Greatest Love of All: The Whitney Houston Show and Russian National Ballet; the revered traditions of Aidas Cuevas and the Dhoad Gypsies of Rajasthan alongside the technologically spellbinding presentation of Journey Live.

And yet the most intimate state-of-the-art venue in the region remains a home for local arts organizations like the Folsom Lake Symphony, Sacramento Baroque Soloists and El Dorado Musical Theatre, as well as for high-profile local promoters like Carrera Productions and SBL Entertainment, and so many more.

But make no mistake: the 2018-19 Season will bear a notable New York accent. "Some years, there are more Broadway tours available on the road than others, and this is one of those seasons," notes Harris Center Executive Director Dave Pier. "Such a rich selection of national Broadway tours plays very well to one of our core strengths - we're a state-of-the-art venue that can present the big shows while retaining the intimacy of an 850-seat house."

Indeed, for the Broadway lover, it will be a busy year, beginning in October with A Night with Janis Joplin and Finding Neverland, followed by The Wizard of Oz and Jersey Boys in January, Kinky Boots and Evita in February, the 15th Anniversary Tour of Spamalot in March, Legally Blonde -The Musical and Something Rotten! in April, followed by RAIN - A Tribute To The Beatles rounding out the Broadway offerings in June 2019.

That said, there is far more to the Harris Center than Broadway.

Legacy is a big word this season, with established stars like Steven Stills & Judy Collins, Jim Messina, Christopher Cross, and Diane Schuur coming to Stage One, as will country greats LeAnn Rimes, Clint Black, Tracy Byrd and others. The Irish Rovers are coming to Folsom; even the Kingston Trio is performing their much-loved catalogue with a legacy tour of their own (it's a family affair).

The Hawaiian Islands are well represented in 2018-19, with Kahulanui; Kaumakaiwa Kanak'ole, with Shawn Pimental; Keola Beamer and Jeff Peterson, with Moanalani Beamer; and Masters of Hawaiian Music.

The Folsom Lake College Speakers Series includes An Evening with Ron Paul, National Public Radio anchor Susan Stamburg Considering All Things, and A Conversation with Danny Glover. Bonus speakers events include A Conversation with Linda Ronstadt and Andy Stanford-Clark Explains the Internet of Things.

The blues are well presented with the Sacramento Guitar Society's Harmonica Slapdown joining perennial favorite Mark Hummel's Harmonica Blowout. Branford Marsalis returns with an evening of jazz, and the guitar is well presented by Ottmar Liebert, International Guitar Night and the Sacramento Guitar Society.

With a proven commitment to building community through memorable performances, the Harris Center is a busy, vibrant hub of cultural activity hosting upwards of 400 events per year.

For the second year, the Harris Center is offering three subscription series that offer savings over single ticket prices, plus the retention of the same seats year after year. The Big Stage Series, featuring the national tours of Broadway musicals A Night with Janis Joplin, Finding Neverland, Jersey Boys, Evita and Something Rotten!, and the popular Keyboard ConversationsÒ series with Jeffrey Siegel, both offer savings of 20% or more and have been on sale since May. The Folsom Lake College Speakers Series featuring Ron Paul, Susan Stamberg and Danny Glover offers a 15% discount over regular prices.

Here's a monthly summary of artists scheduled to perform in 2018-19. New artists are always being added. Always!

AUGUST, 2018

Folsom favorite and country star, Clint Black returns for two shows August 18 and 19. The Harris Center will offer a range of Hawaiian artists this season, beginning with Kahulanui, Hawaii's Kings of Swing, on August 24. The ensemble blends traditional Hawaiian music with the Big Band Swing brought to the islands by U.S. servicemen during World War II. Jeffrey Siegel's beloved Keyboard Conversations begins its eighth season at Harris Center celebrating Rachmaninoff and Debussy on August 25. Also returning to Stage One is In The Mood, the authentic big band theatrical swing revue, celebrating its 25th Anniversary with eight shows, accompanied by the region's own Folsom Lake Symphony. Add a jazz big band orchestra and fabulous singers and dancers to each performance, and Glen Miller himself couldn't ask for more (August 30 - September 3).

On August 17, SBL Entertainment welcomes Asleep at the Wheel, winner of ten Grammy Awards, back to Folsom. The Folsom Lake Community Concert Association pays a three-man tribute to Michael Bublé on August 26. A program of music east and west with Music Beyond Borders Premier Concert features a string orchestra and Persian guests on August 31.

SEPTEMBER

A tribute concert provides a certain kind of reverence for the greats who are gone, or the greats most of us never got to see. On September 4-5, a beautifully crafted tribute to one of the most revered singers takes Stage One, with The Greatest Love Of All: The Whitney Houston Show. The Folsom Lake College Speakers Series hosts A Conversation with Linda Ronstadt on September 21 and a free event a day earlier, sponsored by Inductive Automation, with the Master Inventor for IBM and pioneer of the Internet of Things Andy Stanford-Clark (September 20). Filled with high-intensity martial arts and breathtaking acrobatics, Chinese Warriors of Peking perform September 22 and 23. Kaumakaiwa Kanak'ole, known as the Voice of Hawaii's New Generation, brings her unique take on Hawaiian culture on September 26 accompanied by guitarist Shawn Pimental: she "vaulted through various registers and timbres, from bass to witchy contralto rasp to sweet soprano...a traditionalist tour de force" (New York Times). In a special intimate reunion, the legendary Stephen Stills & Judy Collins perform together on September 27 (he wrote the Crosby, Stills & Nash hit song "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" to her!). And, in a family affair, The Kingston Trio comes to Folsom as part of their Legacy Tour, featuring founding member Nick Reynold's son Josh Reynolds, Mike Marvin and Tim Gorelangton on September 30.

Community Partners of the Harris Center - regional arts organizations and presenters - are especially active in September. Starbright Entertainment presents Mike Amaral's California Beach Boys Experience on September 6. "Beloved Bay Area bluegrass stars" (San Jose Mercury News) The Nell & Jim Band combine Americana, folk and bluegrass on September 7. SBL Entertainment has invited the Windham Hill legend, pianist George Winston, back to Folsom on September 7, as well as Ottmar Liebert and Luna Negra for a dazzling night of world music on September 14. The Classical Masters Music Festival presents The Four Phantoms In Concert, featuring four of Broadway's iconic leading men - Brent Barrett, Ciarán Sheehan, Franc D'Ambrosio, and Marcus Lovett - each of whom has performed as the Phantom of the Opera (September 15). A perennial Billboard chart-topper, country star Clay Walker will perform September 16, and Rita Rudner, queen of the epigrammatic one liners, will bring her bestselling comedy to town September 28; both shows are courtesy of Carrera Productions. Finally in September, GV Productions of Las Vegas reprises the 1940's Battle of Big Bands on September 29.

OCTOBER

"October is a very busy month for our Presents program at the Harris Center," noted Executive Director Dave Pier, who oversees the booking of national and international concert tours for the Center. The fun begins October 2 with DakhaBrakha, from the Ukraine. The quartet - three women and a man - weave ancient folk melodies, world rhythms and instrumentation that is Indian, Arabic, African, Russian and Australian in origin. October 6 brings a family show, Tomás and the Library Lady by Arizona's Childsplay. It's a bilingual musical based on the true story of Tomás Rivera, a son of migrant farm workers who became the first minority chancellor in the University of California system. Grammy Award winner Aida Cuevas joins Mariachi Juvenil Tecalitlan in paying a loving tribute to the music of Mexico's bestselling artist of all time, Juan Gabriel, on October 7. Honoring the 100th birthday of Nelson Mandela, on October 9 the internationally acclaimed Soweto Gospel Choir from South Africa will grace Stage One. The second concert in Keyboard Conversations with Jeffrey Siegel is October 11 in a celebration of Chopin in Paris.

The first offering from the Big Stage Series is October 12-14, with four performances of A Night with Janis Joplin, an imagined concert of the beloved singer and her musical influences. Mary Bridget Davies will reprise her powerful Tony-nominated role for Best Lead Actress on Broadway. In a fascinating fusion of video game technology, visual art and live performance, Fifth House Ensemble's Journey Live projects above the stage the stunning images from Journey, the "the most beautiful [video] game of its time" (IGN). As the video game is played live, the music ensemble based in Chicago performs the musical score on October 16. No two performances are alike!

Two virtuosos of Hawaiian slack key guitar, Keola Beamer and Jeff Peterson - you heard their music in The Descendants, starring George Clooney - are joined by the lovely dancer Moanalani Beamer on October 18. The Panto Company USA will stage Pinocchio for the entire family October 20. The 89-strong United States Army Field Band & Soldiers' Chorus will perform a free concert on October 24 (patrons must have a ticket). Techno Circus by SIRO-A fuses groundbreaking visual effects and physical theater set to a techno soundtrack in two performances on October 25. The second Broadway offering in the Big Stage Series takes to Stage One for five shows October 26-28 with Finding Neverland. "Far and away the best musical of the year!" (NPR), the musical tells the story of how Peter Pan was born.

Whether performing for the President of France or for Mick Jagger's birthday, the 17-member Dhoad Gypsies of Rajasthan bring "catchy melodies and intense grooves - a heady blend of Hindustani classical and Sufi devotional music - that are hypnotic, joyous and instantly likeable" (Irish Times; on October 30).

Harris Center Community Partners are no less busy in October. Using huge projection photos, original film footage and a full live band performing all the hits, SBL Entertainment presents The Simon & Garfunkel Story on October 3. El Dorado Musical Theater offers Back to Broadway, featuring High Voltage, on October 4. Trumpeter and singer Dale Head brings the MindWinder Orchestra for an evening of both rock and big band swing October 5. "Cut For Cut, Note For Note," Classic Albums Live presents Led Zeppelin II in its entirety on October 6, courtesy of Carrera Productions. Sacramento Guitar Society presents the husband-and-wife, guitar-and-piano music of Duo Klavitarre, an evening that includes Baroque, Classic, Romantic and Modern compositions on October 12.

The Sacramento Blues Society presents Harmonica Slapdown on October 13 with Mitch Kashmar, Aki Kumar, Gary Smith, and Andy Santana. Vita Academy continues its "Great Composers Chamber Music Series" with an evening of Beethoven, Dohnányi, and Brahms on October 14. Folsom Lake Symphony performs a program of Bernstein, Bruch and Brahms in Brilliant Masterworks on October 20, featuring guest violinist Kerson Leong. Sacramento Baroque Soloists and Judith Linsenberg ("the Jascha Heifetz of recorder") performs Lightning and Grace for three concerts October 20 and 21, including works by Bach, Graun, Graupner, Telemann, and Schenck. The Folsom Lake Community Concert Associatin presents The New Chordettes, performing "Mr. Sandman" and all the hits, on October 21.

NOVEMBER

Harris Center presentations begin the month of November with Celtic Wings, featuring acclaimed Riverdance principal dancer Caterina Coyne and the Kerry Orchestra (November 1). The celebration of the Day of the Dead - Día de los Muertos - varies by region in Mexico; Ballet Folklórico de Sacramento's company of 30 dancers and musicians offers an onstage tour of the tradition in Ofrenda Día de los Muertos on November 2. On November 3, Jim Messina plays Stage One - over five decades, he performed in three super groups - Loggins & Messina, Buffalo Springfield, and Poco. Formerly known as Chamber Orchestra Kremlin, the renamed Russian Strings Orchestra has received widespread acclaim: the Diapason d'Or award in France, Critics Choice in London's Gramophone, and the Critics Choice in The New York Times (November 13).

The holidays begin November 19-23 with Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, "a gleeful musical take on holiday favorite!" (Chicago Daily Herald Review). Carrying forward the "Hot Jazz" legacy are the Django Festival All-Stars on November 28 in what will be "the greatest jazz show in town" (Wall Street Journal). Performing November 29, "a group of down-to-earth Aussie blokes," The TEN Tenors, perform Home for the Holidays. "Just wait until you hear what ten tenors can do...their unique mix of the traditional and unconventional offers a fresh and highly-original take on the staid traditions of opera" (New York Times).

The fall production by the always intriguing Falcon's Eye Theatre at Folsom Lake College brings William Shakespeare's Macbeth to the stage November 2-18. Sacramento Guitar Society presents Grammy nominated lutenist Ronn McFarlane on November 2. Founded in 2001, El Dorado Musical Theatre has become one of the top youth theater companies in the Western United States -youth theater at its best! EDMT presents the Tony Award-winning Peter Pan for multiple performances from November 9 to 18. Carrera Productions brings back to the Harris Center the wonderful Diane Schuur, in I Remember You on November 14. The band known for their note-perfect renditions, Steelin' Dan, performs A Tribute to the Music of Steely Dan on November 24. On November 25, the Sacramento Preparatory Music Academy celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Beatles White Album by playing the whole thing - with a 40-piece orchestra. And on November 26, SBL Entertainment presents the critically-acclaimed pianist, vocalist and songwriter Bruce Hornsby.

DECEMBER

It wouldn't be the holiday season in Folsom without An Irish Christmas, with Connor Reider and the whole Kerry Crew for four shows December 22 and 23. Bringing their energetic style of holiday joy to Folsom on the night before Christmas, DRUMLine Live Holiday Spectacular combines Gospel, Jazz, Soul, Motown rhythms, and The Nutcracker Suite.

Folsom's three-stage venue on the hill is truly turned into a home for the holidays, thanks to its many community Partners, beginning with the Voices of California, presenting Merry and Bright! on December 1. Folsom Lake Symphony performs seasonal favorites in Holiday Spirit, with guest tenor Doug LaBrecque, on December 1 and 2. Sacramento Baroque Soloists explore works by Corelli and others in Christmas Concertos by Candlelight for three concerts December 1 and 2.

Emery Entertainment presents An Unforgettable Nate King Cole Christmas with Chicago-based singing sensation Evan Tyrone Martin December 2. Two-time Grammy winner and beloved country star LeAnn Rimes takes the stage on December 5, presented by SBL Entertainment. The beautiful voices of the Placer Pops Chorale perform Holiday Pops December 8 and 9. SBL Entertainment presents ukulele superstar Jake Shimabukuro on December 9.

By now a Folsom tradition, Pamela Hayes Classical Ballet Theatre presents The Nutcracker December 13-16, with live orchestral accompaniment by members of the Folsom Lake Symphony. The Cantare Chorale presents a holiday program entitled Christmas Radio on December 14 and 16. El Dorado Musical Theatre, featuring High Voltage, presents their Holiday Celebration December 18. GV Productions of Las Vegas presents Big Band Christmas with special guests The Satin Dollz on December 19. The Sacramento Master Singers offer up A Master Singers Christmas, including an opening candlelight processional to Eric Whitacre's mesmerizing "Lux Arumque," on December 20. And Posada Navideña returns, performed by the 25-member Ballet Folklórico de Sacramento, on Stage One December 21.

JANUARY 2019

Jeffrey Siegel's Keyboard Conversations celebrates The Joyous Music of Beethoven January 11, 2019. Paris Combo plays their a fun-loving mix of swinging gypsy jazz, cabaret, French pop and Latino and Middle Eastern rhythms on January 13. The Harris Center is proud to welcome back the exceptional jazz of the Branford Marsalis Jazz Quartet on January 13; a wonderful evening of world music awaits on Jan 16 with the award-winning Brazilian vocal group Ordinarius, coming to Folsom by way of their first-ever U.S. tour.

Grammy Nominee and bluesman extraordinaire Mark Hummel returns on January 17 with his another all-star cast for 2019 Southern Harp Blowout (Bobby Rush, Kenny Neal, Jumpin' Johnny Sansone). And then there's more Broadway, back to back: the national tour of Broadway's The Wizard of Oz is a lavish musical rendition of the classic tale, on Stage One for five performances January 18-20. Deep inside the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons is the Tony Award -winning true-life musical phenomenon - and national tour of - Jersey Boys, featuring all the songs you know so well, from "Sherry" to "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" (Stage One for seven shows January 22-26).

The Harris Center welcomes Hawaiian native Kalani Pe'a on January 30. He won a 2017 Grammy Award for his debut CD; after taking to singing to help with his speech impediment. "His voice...and passion for music... will take you to the heavens" (Darlene Ahuna).

Anne Frank - Words from the Shadows begins after the liberation of Auschwitz. Anne's father, the only survivor of the Frank family, receives his daughter's diary. Reading it, he discovers aspects of her that he did not expect. Performed by Italy's contemporary imPerfect Dancers Company on January 31.

Emery Entertainment presents Robert Dubac's newest Off-Broadway solo hit, The Book of Moron, on January 4, 2019. "Riding shotgun with intelligence and absurdity, there's laughter for all!" (New York Times). Carrera Productions presents five-time Grammy winner, Academy Award and Golden Globe recipient Christopher Cross and his Billboard-topping catalog on January 5, followed by The Magpie Salute (Rich Robinson and others from The Black Crowes) and guest The Stone Foxes on January 12. The second installment of Vita Academy's Great Composers Chamber Music Series focuses on Rising Stars of Chamber Music on January 6. Sacramento Baroque Soloists perform a selection of Baroque Cello Sonatas in The Voice of the Cello on January 26 and 27. With songs like "You've Got a Friend" and "It's Too Late," Tapestry: Tribute to Carole King stars Jeannie Austin and her band on January 27 (presented by the Folsom Lake Community Concert Association).

FEBRUARY

Celebrating 25 years since his first #1 single "Holdin' Heaven," classic country star Tracy Byrd brings TBYRD25: The Tour to the Harris Center on February 5. Two distinct programs mark the 2019 return of the Russian National Ballet to Folsom. On February 6 the company of 50 exquisite dancers will twice perform Cinderella, a full-length ballet in two acts, with music by Prokofiev. On February 7, the company will perform excerpts from the world's greatest ballets with music by Tchaikovsky, Saint-Säens, Prokofiev, and more. On February 10, Murphy's Celtic Legacy, created by former principal dancer of Lord of the Dance Chris Hannon, is the next generation of Irish dance spectacular featuring 19 dancers and live music.

From Luis Bravo, the Tony-nominated creator of Forever Tango - "an Argentinian-tasting menu of music, moves, mystery and mucho sensuality" (New York Daily News) - comes the North American Premiere of his new show, Cumparsita, on February 13 and 14. With six Tony Awards to its credit (including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Choreography) and songs by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, the "irresistibly good" (Washington Post) Kinky Boots brings its national tour to Stage One for five performances on February 15-17.

Brian Gore's International Guitar Night will be hosted on February 19 by Italy's Luca Stricagnoli; he'll be joined by swing guitarist Antoine Boyer and Flamenco guitarist Samuelito (both from France), and the ground-breaking Turkish fretless guitarist Cenk Erdogan. And for five performances on February 21-23, the national tour of Evita will be in the house. With lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, this iconic musical about Eva Peron won more than 20 major awards, many of them named "Tony."

The Lenaea High School Theatre Festival will return to the Center on February 1 to 3. The Folsom Lake Symphony will perform Romantic Tales on February 9, which includes work from Gershwin, Saint-Saens and Rimsky-Korsakov. Also on February 9, Keith Lowell Jensen will tape his "latest hour of comedic storytelling" Not For Rehire live before the Harris Center audience. Becky Lynn opens the show which is presented by Carrera Productions. Vita Academy's Great Composers Chamber Music Series continues with music by Shostakovich, Prokofiev, and Babadjanian on February 17. SBL Entertainment presents Japanese keyboardist and composer Keiko Matsui peforming her elegant jazz melodies and gentle grooves on February 20.

MARCH

The Harris Center Presenting program is in full swing for the month of March. For more than four decades, The Irish Rovers have charmed and entertained audiences around the world. They come to Folsom March 5 on Stage One. The Masters of Hawaiian Music are four-time Grammy-winner and master slack key guitarist George Kahumoku Jr., multi-instrumentalist Nathan Aweau, and slack key guitarist David "Kawika" Kahiapo, performing together on March 6.

On March 9, the Folsom Lake College Speakers Series presents An Evening with Ron Paul, who has run for President of the United States three times.

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Ireland on March 17 at the Harris Center, with Connor Reider and fiddles, uileann pipes, banjo, bodhrán, guitar, flutes, three lassies singing and a whole lot of Irish dance. The Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Monty Python's Spamalot is lovingly ripped off from the film classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail; the 15th Anniversary national tour brings King Arthur and the rest to the stage March 21-24.

"This, ladies and gentlemen, is where chamber music is going" (Ottawa Chamberfest): performing at the Harris Center March 25, collectif9 employs lights, staging, and amplification to create genre-bending classical performances. On March 27, Keyboard Conversations with Jeffrey Siegel performs Fascinatin' Rhythms, based on the music of Gershwin, Scott Joplin, "dashing Polkas," Brahms, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, and Stravinsky.

On March 28, Gamelan Sekar Jaya, the most celebrated gamelan ensemble outside of Bali, returns in a special program celebrating its 40th Anniversary. And, on March 31, in an afternoon of heartfelt, soulful music, Will Ackerman, The Gathering, 4 Guitars features Mr. Ackerman, the founder of Windham Hill Records, and three outstanding musicians he has produced over the years: Todd Mosby, Trevor Gordon Hall, and Todd Boston.

Harris Center Community Partners remain as engaged as ever in March. Malko presents the Slavic theater show It Runs in the Family on March 2. "In a magical kingdom beneath the sea...." EDMT presents Disney's The Little Mermaid for multiple performances from March 1 to March 10. El Dorado Dance Academy offers Bhaskar Arts Dance Recital on March 16. The Sacramento Baroque Soloists perform Viva Vivaldi: Vivaldi's Concertos in Full Splendor on March 23 and 24 for three shows. SBL Entertainment presents Arlo Guthrie, performing his historic Alice's Restaurant in its entirety, on March 29. Folsom Lake Symphony performs a family concert on March 30 that will have you Dancin' In Your Seat. On March 30, Carrera Productions offers Vicki Lawrence and Mama in what's billed as a "two woman show." Emmy Award-winner Lawrence gained fame in The Carol Burnett Show and Mama's Family.

APRIL

"If there's a better chamber orchestra in the world today, I haven't heard it" (The Guardian): on April 1, the Harris Center welcomes the Australian Chamber Orchestra, with artistic direction by Richard Tognetti. Fusing world music and dance with high-fidelity NASA imagery of Earth, Bella Gaia offers "a stunning work of multimedia entertainment" (Phoenix New Times) on April 3. Virtuoso Zakir Hussain returns with the Masters of Percussion on April 4. And OMG, it's the national tour of Legally Blonde - The Musical coming to Stage One for five shows April 5-7. The Panto Company USA presents Beauty and the Beast for the entire family April 13.

In a capital region debut, the national tour of Something Rotten! comes to Folsom for five shows April 18-20. New York Magazine describe it as "The Producers + Spamalot + The Book of Mormon. Squared!" The Folsom Lake College Speakers Series continues on April 9 with former National Public Radio anchor Susan Stamberg Considering All Things, and concludes with A Conversation with Danny Glover on April 29.

Community Partners of the Harris Center celebrate spring beginning with the Vita Academy's final installment in their Great Composers Chamber Music Series, "A True Viennese Classic - Music by Franz Schubert" on April 7. Sacramento Guitar Society brings the award-winning powerhouse Rovshan Mamedkuliev on April 12. Folsom Lake Symphony has titled their April 13 concert "Fantastical," with music from Falla, Beethoven and Stravinsky. The Folsom Lake Community Concert Association presents superstar singers Christiane Noll and Hugh Panaro in "Memories Down Broadway Lane" April 14. Falcon's Eye Theatre at Folsom Lake College will perform Alice In Wonderland for their spring production, with numerous performances between April 26 and May 12. El Dorado Musical Theatre presents the beloved West Side Story for multiple performances April 26 to May 5.

MAY AND JUNE

Menopause The Musical returns for six shows May 9-12. Set to classic tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s, "it's impossible not to laugh" (New York Times). Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Abbey Road, RAIN - A Tribute To The Beatles returns for eight shows June 5-9. Noche Flamenca, "a beloved troupe... can rely on its dependably thrilling star, Soledad Barrio ..." (New York Times) performs on Stage One on June 28.

The Voices of California present a 10-year retrospective entitled The Best Of VoCal! on May 18 for two performances. Folsom Lake Symphony performs a program of exciting film scores with Heroes and Villains on June 1 and 2. Placer Pops Chorale returns for a pair of concerts on May 17 and 19. And the Folsom Lake Community Concert Association concludes its season with Classic Nashville Roadshow starring Jason Petty and Katie Deal on June 23 for two shows.

The Harris Center for the Arts at Folsom Lake College brings the community together to share in cultural experiences featuring the work of artists from throughout the region and around the world. Built and operated by the Los Rios Community College District, the $50 million, state-of-the-art regional performing arts center boasts three intimate venues with outstanding acoustics, an art gallery, a recording studio, elegant teaching spaces, plenty of safe parking and all the other amenities of a world-class performing arts venue. Each year the Center hosts upwards of 400 events attracting 150,000 annually.
