Wine lovers alert! The Capital Grille has scheduled "The Generous Pour Wine Event" this summer at all of their dining locations. Guests have a fabulous opportunity this summer to enjoy a selection of fine wine at an excellent price point with their meals. From July 10 through September 3 for $28 per person with dinner ($38 in Pa. markets). The Capital Grille will offer seven world-class, highly rated wines hand-selected by their Advanced Sommelier, Brian Phillips. The fine cuisine served at The Capital Grille along with perfect pairings make this an experience that shouldn't be missed. It is the ninth year that the highly successful event will be held. Servers will suggest pairings for each course, based on individual preferences, allowing guests to craft a personalized wine dinner.

The Generous Pour will feature a collection of seven benchmark offerings with the theme of The Critics' Darlings: 90+ Point Finds. These are wines that have been rated 90 points or higher by respected wine critics such as Robert M. Parker Jr. and Wildred Wong of Wine.com. The tasting exploration encourages guests to try new wine varietals and regions and offers specific notes and best pairings. This year's lineup features wines from California's Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Santa Barbara regions, as well as Oregon's Willamette Valley.

Broadwayworld.com attended a preview event for The Generous Pour at The Capital Grille's Midtown Manhattan location in the Time Life Building. Whether you are a wine aficionado, or someone who casually enjoys wine with your meals, you will totally benefit from the tasting experience. We enjoyed the outstanding wine selections and pairings that will be available to guests. They included:

Matanzas Creek Winery Sauvignon Blanc, 2016 (92 Points) - A balanced and savory 'old world style' of Sauvignon Blanc from the Bennett Valley in Sonoma, that delivers fresh brightness of fruit and lively acidity on the finish. Tasting Notes: Grapefruit, white nectarine, honeycrisp apples and dry lemon thyme. Pairing Recommendations: Jumbo Lump Crab Cocktail; Cast Iron Garlic Shrimp; Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella; Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot CherRy Peppers; French Onion Soup; Sushi-Grade Sesame Seared Tuna with Gingered Rice.

Arrowood "Sonoma Estates" Cabernet Sauvignon, 2014 (90 Points) - A bright, juicy blend of Bordeaux varietals from the valleys of Sonoma, Knights and Alexander, the historic Arrowood winery has set the bar for Sonoma County Cabernet. Tasting Notes: Black cherry and black currant preserves with undertones of chai tea and mocha. Pairing Recommendations: Seared Dry Aged Sirloin; Gorgonzola and Truffle Crusted Dry Aged Bone-In NY Strip; Dry Aged NY Strip au Poivre with Courvoisier Cream - 14 oz.

Siduri Pinot Noir, 2015 (90 Points) - Willamette Valley is arguably the finest region in the country for Pinot Noir and Siduri's 2015 vintage is perhaps the finest produced in Oregon in over 20 years. Tasting Notes: Fresh red and blue fruit with allspice, a hint of white pepper and silky smooth texture. Pairing Recommendations: Seared Citrus Glazed Salmon with Marcona Almonds and Brown Butte; Tuna Tartare with Avocado, Mango and Sriracha; Steak Tartare; Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato, Basil with 15-Year Aged Balsamic; Herb Roasted Chicken, Apple Cider Brine and Mushroom Risotto; Filet Mignon - 10 oz.
