Opens at Procopio Ferreira theater, in Sao Paulo, the musical The Wizard of Oz, inspired by the literary work of L. Frank Braum, released in the year 1900. In this production of the classic, adapted for today, Miss Dorothy is played by Duda Pimenta, Danielle Winits as the Bad Witch, Sienna Belle as Glinda and Frederico Reuter, the Magician.

The opera's libretto was adapted by the composer from a 1920 serialized novella, Liška Bystrouška. For the title of the opera, Příhody means tales; lišky is the genitive of vixen. Bystroušky, still genitive, is the pun sharp, having the double meaning of pointed, like fox ears, and clever.

Something Rotten! is a musical comedy set in 1595. The story follows the Bottom brothers, who struggle to find success in the theatrical world as they compete with the wild popularity of their contemporary William Shakespeare. Directed by Gustavo Barchilon, the musical stars Marcos Veras, George Sauma, Laila Garin, Leo Bahia and a great cast.

In Acordei Cantando an actress, at the height of her career, is married to an important lawyer who seems to have no artistic vocation. However, with the help of a hilarious oriental doctor, one day he wakes up singing! The musical was written by Ricardo Ripa, musical direction and original songs by Ricardo Severo, and direction by Homem de Melo.

On June 30th and July 1st, Friday and Saturday, at 8:30 pm, Teatro Sergio Cardoso presents the opera Cavalleria Rusticana, by composer Pietro Mascagni.
