Sutton Ross said: "I saw it with Nicole about a month ago and she got the least amount of applause and laughs. She just didn't quite nail Celine and it was pretty awkward at times. I just saw it with Jackie last week and her Celine is much better and the audience loved her. This show is such a joy and everyone is fantastic, imo.

"

It's surprising that Nicole didn't work out as well as we all hoped/expected. The bits I've seen were fine, but weren't totally there for me. Great to hear that Jackie is working out so well!

I saw it tonight with Carrie St. Louis and the crowd loved it. The only thing that didn't land was the bit at the beginning when one of the actors pretended to see his ex boyfriend in the audience. It went on and on and the audience just sat silent. But everything else about the show was hilarious, shocking, and silly. I hope this goes on national tour soon.

Saw the new company with Nicole and the since the cast was mostly new, I was surprised how great they were. Not a dip in quality at all. (Took a minute to get used to a new Celine, but Nicole won me over, which is moot now anyway.)

I’m genuinely curious if the opening bit before Celine arrives ever works. It went by with zero laughs when I saw it (to the point that I thought “Uh-oh! What did we buy tickets to?” ), and I’ve spoken to friends who went at separate times who said the same. They really couldn’t find a funnier opening considering how hilarious everything proceeding it is?

I have only ever found the beginning to land when the Seaman is played by Avionce Hoyles. I def miss him!

Didn't get a chance to report back but I ended up going that evening and the cast was great!! Really loved Jackie Burns, her acting style seemed similar to the original from what I remember. Truly beautiful voice! The rest of the cast did a great job. The only major / notable difference was the actress who played Roses mother. While she wasn't bad, it just wasn't the same as the larger male actor who I saw originally. It made for a much funnier casting choice that really elevated the role for me.

Both times I've seen it, I've cringed at the opening before Celine is introduced. I had the same thought of "oh no, what did I sign myself up for" when I first saw it. I had to warn the people I was with that the opening is eye rolley and not funny but to stick with it cause the rest of the show is great lol. I'm pretty surprised they never edited that out and opened differently because it's pretty universally not funny

The opening isn't funny if the man in the audience doesn't play along. Thankfully when I was there when Nicole was still around, the guy was with a date and they played along with Avionce for several minutes. It was funny and it worked but if someone isn't into being put on the spot, it's extremely awkward.

Brilliant replacement casting! Drew in particular is going to be uproarious as Ruth, but I’m so excited to see Willam live finally.

Also, I saw Jackie as Celine a few weeks ago and she is marvelously unhinged. I never got to see Marla, but her understudy the first time I saw it - Courtney Bassett - was hilarious and delivered what felt more like a loving caricature of the actual Celine. Jackie’s take feels more like an insane clown version, almost grotesque, and I was so obsessed.

Three Thoughts:

1) HOLY #*}^{!}€~*{^]%{%}*#*{^]%{

2) I guess “Death Drop” at NWS isn’t working out after all

3) I have NEVER seen Willam with a full beard before and, honestly, werq.

Has anyone been recently? Is this still worth a ticket? Considering tacking on a second show this weekend for my trip.

Saw it a couple of weeks ago Nathan was amazing as well as Jackie. First time seeing it and really had a smile on my face the whole time. Would I see it again ? Nah but it’s such a fun time with a group of people and a drink. The director sat in front of us with his huge bright laptop and introduce himself to us saying he would be taking notes. He then moved to the last row …nice guy

I went a few months ago, it's a lot of fun. I think watching the movie again beforehand make the experience better, there's a bit with a "propeller" that I never would have gotten if I hadn't watched the movie a few weeks before seeing it but killed me.

Still no rumors? Im going beginning of April and very curious whos gonna play Celine.

Another question. I saw that sometimes that they had actual Playbills at Titanique but when I went it was a Stagelight Programme. Same with. I saw people Post with actual Playbills and then today I saw on insta that they also have these Stagelight Programmes. Can somebody explain what the Difference is and why its sometimes one and the other times the other?
