They dont work well out of context at all, and the show seems to be selling really well without any television appearance necessary. But those Twitter comments...ouch.
That happens a lot, they hurt the show more than they help it. I remember Rocky's performance at the Tonys last year, and how bad it made the show look. Also, they picked the most boring song from Violet to feature on GMA last year. I don't get it, but I figured they didn't think "Ring of Keys" was appropriate?
I think it's dumb they took the off Broadway album off iTunes. I don't care for Emily's voice, especially in "Changing My Major". People should have a choice of albums digitally.
I agree BrerBear, I think it would beautiful as a stand alone show. However, it's not. It never will be. It is a continuation of Phantom of the Opera, and totally ruins his character. Why anyone would want to see that is beyond me.
Taye Diggs is only 5 foot 10 inches (shorter than all the others except Darren), and he isn't bigger than AR. It will be wonderful to see some diversity in the role, even if it is "a large black man" (eye rolling so hard at that dumb ass statement)
I had no issues with his speech or diction. It all depends who you grew up around and if you've experienced people speaking English as their non primary language. The issue isn't him.
