This is the first show to officially confirm a return date, even if still "tentative" correct? This seems realistic assuming they don't just turn around and close altogether. I don't know if I see that happening, they seem pretty committed to running the show at least for a little while...

Tickets are on-sale now.

I was just wondering this morning if shows were going to start announcing return dates soon. I think its probably good to announce December right now and then move that up, if/when things change to allow for a sooner opening.

I look forward to seeing this on Netflix. I loved Jeanna when I saw her in Kinky Boots and I can't wait to finally get to see Judy Kaye in a show. I've also gotten closer to Ted Arthur (the associate conductor), having observed him/his book once when he was working on The Prom.

However, I think most people are going to lambast this, not only because of the recent racism allegations at Buckingham Palace, but also because there is not a single POC in the principal cast.

I think the real question for this one is what the streaming reviews are. If they are not good, I see this just packing up. Note also that, from a producing standpoint, this is Margaritaville redux. Since I don't think we are going to see very many shows opening in Fall, I would not expect many move-ups. In this case, with the Oct 1 date I would think they would want that to sink in and would not try to do both at the same time. Also, starting Dec 1 means (a) hoping you get a holiday rush in uncharted terrain and (b) that you get to compete with Hugh Jackman for attention. I would not want to be in a producing office for this in Jan/Feb. But we shall see.

I've gone on record before to say that this show didn't do much for me but I'm curious to see how it plays on Netflix. The other part of this that I find interesting is that they decided to film it with only a week of previews under their belt, so I wonder if they aren't planning on making any changes at all to the show or if the live version will have slight differences from what was captured.

The show is about real people who are white. So.....

My understanding is that the principal cast is made up of de Waal, Hartrampf, Davie, and Kaye, with all the other cast members playing more minor/ensemble roles.

While I 100% agree with you, there will absolutely be people blasting this show regardless of whether the characters are real white people or not (same with Flying Over Sunset).

As far as I know they've worked on the show and made several changes before they started to tape it last fall.

I'm all for streaming of shows to make them more accessible, but this seems an odd move. There are definitely shows on the bubble where I might grab a ticket to, but if it's up on Netflix before it even opens there is 0 chance I go in person unless I absolutely love it.

I hope they start announcing soon. I still have tickets to Assassins and am waiting for CSC to announce a return date. And there are some west coast shows I'd like to arrange travel for but am waiting till they make announcements.

New sliding scale Telecharge fees will make me think twice before buying a ticket for a show if it is marginal.

Seating Sections
Tickets purchased online and by phone are subject to a $8.50 per ticket service charge for tickets up to $50, $13.25 for tickets $50.01 - $199.99 and an $15.00 per ticket service charge for tickets $200 and up. Additional handling fees are charged per order and vary based on how tickets are delivered.

The principal cast is playing real life historical figures who were, indeed, white. I don't understand your logic. When is comes to real historical figures, diverse casting is not always going to happen.

^Correct. People using Hamilton as a counter example clearly don't understand what LMM was doing.

From what I'm hearing is that most shows are starting to plan out their reopenings. Shows will return in a staggered schedule (as expected).

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I’d imagine over the month or two we’ll begin seeing the casting notices (Phantom already started this) and the want ads for crew, theater staff, concessions staff etc. as shows tentatively plan restarting. I’m still curious if there’s going to be a push to start a little sooner, once the West End is up and running (at hopefully) full capacity by July.

This is fine by me.

Diana isn't the sort of musical that I would put on my list of shows to see whenever I come to New York, but will I watch it on Netflix? Sure.

Eugh. It's not enough to stop me from rushing back to the theatre when Broadway reopens, but this is definitely another entry on my list of grievances with Telecharge. But hey, maybe the increased fees will mean they have the money to upgrade their website for the first time since what feels like 2007.

I honestly don't remember the fees being that much different than what they are now...

I don't think they went up as the ticket price increased. They seemed like they were one flat rate. Screw Telecharge, they are the worst.
