What's my secret?
Frankly dear, forgive my candor,
Family secret, all to do with herbs.
Things like being careful with your coriander,
That's what makes the gravy grander!

Shrek book/music changes Mar 12

I'm currently directing the show with high school students. I have a copy of the script that was licensed to a theatre in the fall of 2014, and the only difference in the scripts we got in 2020 is the editing of the Big Bad Wolf's line in "Story of My Life" to eliminate an insensitive term.
In terms of differences to the OBC recording, there are tons. Lots of differences in the opening, which includes Fiona's parents and her as a little girl. Most other chan

Most Overdone Auditions Songs Lately? Feb 20
2020, 08:25:45 AM
While I'm not in the know to say what songs are frequent in professional audition rooms, as a high school director, I can tell you that nearly any song from The Greatest Showman will be heard multiple times when I hold musical auditions. Much to my headache.

The example I have used in the past is a video of Audra McDonald singing "I'll Be Here" from her televised PBS concert. However, the video I used on Youtube has been removed, and I have had no luck finding it elsewhere on the i

BroadwayConcierge said: "Rural Juror, that video provided a FANTASTIC explanation to my question. I watched the entire thing. Man, my brain is totally wired to analyze and see theatre, not film! But I totally see where the substantial flaws exist now. I wish some studio would take that girl's suggestions and redo the whole thing. It could've been amazing.
Huge thanks to everybody else who has written in response!

Here is a link to Lindsay Ellis' very thorough assessment on why the Phantom movie doesn't work. I think it's an awesome assessment of not only the Phantom movie, but movie musical adaptations in general.
