Strand Theater Company plays host to the Momma Drama theater group from San Francisco, Calif. After 9 years of sold out shows, Momma Drama is presenting the East Coast premier of its highly acclaimed production StrechMarks: Growing into Motherhood. The play describes a journey of three new mothers, who learn what not to expect when they're expecting, how to find strength in themselves and their friendships, and ultimately make their way into the uncharted waters of motherhood. This guest production runs at the Strand for one weekend only, June 22-24th, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1pm.

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival (www.baltplayfest.org) kicks off its Thirty-First Season with the June 22nd opening of Shana Unsettled, by Ronda Cooperstein, at Fells Point Corner Theater (www.fpct.org), 251 South Ann Street, Baltimore, MD 21231, 410-276-7837. Directed by Janel Miley and Jim Knipple, Shana Unsettled runs through July 15th, with performances Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. There will be two Thursday performances on June 28th and July12th at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased on-line at www.fpct.org, or at the door.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) will present the World Premiere of the new play, I Am (Not) My Mother, based on true stories from and about the women of Frederick. Written by Suzanne Beal and directed by MET Associate Artistic Director Gené Fouché the show runs from July 6 through the 22nd at the MET, located in the historic FSK Hotel at 31 W Patrick Street. Proceeds from the production will support the programs of the Women's Giving Circle of Frederick.
