Fells Point Corner Theatre Presents FOLLOWING SARAH as Part of Baltimore Playwrights Festival, 8/3-26

By:

Maddy, Kat and Julia are high-achieving, super-stressed seniors on the Cross Country team at Thwaite Academy. An email from their former teammate, Sarah, threatens to push them over The Edge. Why? Because Sarah died after winning last year's Cross Country Championship.

Rich Espey is a playwright and teacher, living in Baltimore. His plays have been produced throughout the United States, including an Equity Showcase production of Hope's Arbor in New York City. Rich is a two time winner of the Carol Weinberg Award for "Best Play" in the Baltimore Playwrights Festival and was honored with an individual Artist Award in Playwriting by the Maryland State Arts Council in 2007. He teaches Science at The Park School of Baltimore.

Following Sarah is directed by Anne Shoemaker, who makes her directorial debut in this BPF production. Anne is a Baltimore native who received her BA in Acting from Towson University. She has been seen in numerous plays over the past 2 years, including The Iceman Cometh at FPCT, as Pearl, and 3 highly enjoyable roles in FPCT's 10 x 10 - 2012, for which she garnered rave reviews. In addition to acting, Anne also coaches and is pursuing a career as a high school theatre teacher.

Featured in the cast are: Sarah Gorman as Kat, Emily Sucher as Maddy, Grace Yeon as Julia, Rachel Reckling as Kenya, and Kaitlin McMullin as Sarah. Mike Zemarel will play every other role, from an athletic shoe to a moth larva.

Following Sarah opens on Friday, August 3rd and runs until Sunday, August 26th, 2012. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 7 pm. There will be two Thursday performances on August 9th and August 23rd at 8 pm.
