According to an announcement made by creators Scott Thompson and Fred Barton, ONE FOR MY BABY- a new musical featuring the music of Harold Arlen, is looking to present a full workshop production in New York City. With the help of Kickstarter.com, the show is seeking financial help to make the production a reality.

At its 38th annual celebration of Chicago's non-union theatre scene, the Jeff Awards honored 27 award recipients for excellence Monday evening at the Park West. The event, emceed by Circle Theatre's Kevin Bellie for the second consecutive year, featured production numbers by the nominated musicals and presentation of awards, two of which were delivered by robots. The robots, created for Sideshow Theatre Company's 'Heddatron,' earned their creators an award for Robot Design and Engineering in the Artistic Specialization category, shared with Izumi Inaba, who received an award for makeup design for 'Cats' at Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre in association with Michael James.

Calling Covenant House a 'place where opportunity changes the lives of homeless kids,' Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman accepted the Covenant House Beacon of Hope Award from Covenant House board member Barbara Bush at A Night of Broadway Stars benefit on June 2nd before an audience of over 1,000 at the Rose Hall Home of Jazz Theatre at Lincoln Center.

ROCK OF AGES will soon become Hollywood's Biggest Party as filming recently began in Miami, Florida for the New Line Cinema Film. New York City-based theater collective Special Sauce Company presents its latest project, an ambitious four-week festival of new work conceptualized as ‘Flash Plays', to take place over the Spring season. The festival, comprised of over three dozen pieces, are all characterized as site-specific, performed in public locations, and no more than five minutes in length. Audiences will be asked to optionally donate with 100% of proceeds going towards Shelterbox, a disaster relief organization currently focusing its efforts on assisting Japan.

The 2011 Tony Award nominees were announced live from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in New York City on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Wayside Theatre Artistic Director Warner Crocker announced today the performance of Reunion, A Musical Epic in Miniature which will open Wayside Theatre's 50th Golden Anniversary Season. The musical is written by Jack Kyrieleison, Ron Holgate and Michael O'Flaherty. The production is one of the planned events for the National 150th Anniversary of the Civil War. Reunion, A Musical Epic in Miniature begins performances on June 4 and closes on July 2.

Broadway in Bryant Park presented by 106.7 Life FM will host a kickoff event to announce the summer line up for 2011.
