The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced casting for its production of First You Dream: The Music of Kander & Ebb in the Eisenhower Theater June 8 to July 1, 2012. The musical revue will star Heidi Blickenstaff, James Clow, Alan H. Green, Leslie Kritzer, Patina Miller, and Matthew Scott. Originally produced at Signature Theatre in Virginia and co-conceived by David Loud and Eric Schaeffer, the production features music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and will be directed by Eric Schaeffer. Jon Kalbfleisch will conduct the 22-piece Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra. Press opening night is Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

The Old Globe presents the World Premiere of A Room with a View, a new musical based on the novel by E.M. NEWSIES is now in previews at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre. GLEE returns from its winter hiatus in just 2 weeks on April 10, and according to published reports, stage and screen star Whoopi Goldberg has signed on for a multi-episode arc this spring. According to Ohnotheydidnt, Goldberg will play 'Carmen Tibideaux, a theatrical grande dame and a professor at New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts (NYADA) who travels to Ohio to preside over Kurt and Rachel's auditions.'

According to Deadline.com, Jim Henson Co is developing off-Broadway's ImaginOcean, which recently played New World Stages, into a television show. Creator John Tartaglia will executive produce the animated series.

The Lincoln Center Theater production of 4000 MILES, a new play by Amy Herzog, directed by Daniel Aukin opens Monday, April 2 at 6:45 pm at the Mitzi E.
