NYC Parks & Rec Presents 'Fun with Fish' and 'Beautiful Bees,' 7/31
NYC Parks and Rec presents 'Fun with Fish' on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in Central Park. Meet at Harlem Meer, near Lasker Pool.
Public transportation: Take 6 train to 103 St./ Lex. Ave. or M2/4 Bus to Central Park North/5th Ave.
The fishing is fine at the Harlem Meer. Enjoy catch and release fishing as well as arts and crafts. Equipment provided. First-come, first-served. FREE.Blue Heron Park
Then, at 2PM, meet at Blue Heron Nature Center (222 Poillon Avenue, between Amboy Road & Hylan Boulevard) for 'Beautiful Bees.'
Public Transportation: Take the S78 bus along Hylan Blvd. to Poillon Ave., take a right on Poillon Ave., and walk 1/5 of a mile to the park entrance an Nature Center.Buzzzz around the park to experience the wide variety of winged wonders. You'll see honey bees, bumble bees and even metallic green bees. Learn how they help us every day, and check out their homes. Fun for all ages. FREE.
