FAB Presents The wWork of Artist Ryan Cronin on ArtUp Scaffolding Bridge
Fourth Arts Block (FAB) proudly presents the new ArtUp work Kick-line On 4th Street by Ryan Cronin, starting March 2, 2011 until June 1, 2011. The exhibit will display a vibrant, site-specific, 4 feet x 24 feet painting that depicts the performative energy of dancers, actors and, and performance artists that form this cultural gateway. The work itself will be shown on an ArtUp scaffolding bridge on 70 East 4th Street Cultural Center.
Kick-line On 4th Street takes inspiration from the playful side of culture and commercialism. A series of legs will be rendered in the style of art brut and executed primarily in yellow, red, and black. This piece calls attention to the performances that take place in the theaters lining East 4th Street that the public can experience. Cronin takes this energy and presents it to the public through bold imagery of a spirited, hidden song and dance. FAB Café will host a concurrent exhibition of Cronin's work, across the street from the ArtUp Scaffolding Bridge at 75 East 4th Street until Wednesday, April 13th.
The opening event for Kick-line On 4th Street and its concurrent indoor exhibition will occur on Wednesday March 2, 2011 from 7PM-9PM at FAB Cafe. For more information about this exhibition and the opening event, please visit www.fabnyc.org.
