The sultry, young big band front-woman Tamela D'Amico, who is based in Los Angeles, brings a 7-piece combo to her hometown New York to celebrate the recent release of her debut recording, "The Tamela D'Amico Album."  In what will be her New York City debut, D'Amico holds court at the Metropolitan Room, for four exclusive performances, Saturday February 2, and Thursday to Saturday February 7, 8, 9.  All shows are at 10pm.

D'Amico -- a singer, actress, film director triple threat -- recently had a spot on the Stephen Spielberg reality series "On the Lot."  She is an
award-winning filmmaker and an emerging fixture in L.A.'s hipster-retro jazz scene.  Her album is produced by the Grammy winning Jimmy Hoyson, with songs arranged by the Grammy-nominated Chris Walden.  The television and stage star Peter Krause ("Six Feet Under") is the album's executive producer.  The album's intense, swinging orchestrations, which bring to mind a contemporary Nelson Riddle, feature over three dozen musicians.

D'Amico will be seen in two independent feature films, scheduled for release in the fall -- "West of Brooklyn," and "On a Dark and Stormy Night."  As a filmmaker she has a production deal with Dreamworks Pictures SKG.

The Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, celebrates its second anniversary in May.  Four of its artists are receiving Nightlife Awards at the end of this month.  For reservations call 212/206-0440.  D'Amico's cover is $25.  For information visit www.metropolitanroom.com
