The combined San Diego Opera Chorus and the San Diego Master Chorale will be the largest chorus San Diego Opera has ever assembled on the stage of the Civic Theatre, as Krassimira Stoyanova, Stephanie Blythe and Piotr Beczala from the cast of A Masked Ball are joined by great Italian bass, Ferruccio Furlanetto, to complete a cast of soloists every opera house in the world would envy. Italian conductor Massimo Zanetti conducts the San Diego Symphony in this concert work which cries out for eternal rest, forgiveness and divine redemption. Sometimes called an opera disguised as sacred music, and written to honor the great Italian writer Manzoni, the Requiem will leave you breathless. There is only one performance of the Requiem, so add it to your subscription now or risk missing out on one of the greatest evenings in San Diego musical history.

Beatrice and Benedick, who argue with delightful wit, both glibly proclaim their disdain of love. In contrast, the sweet, young couple Claudio and Hero are rendered speechless by their love. Don Pedro, the Prince of Aragon, and Don John, the Bastard Prince, hatch parallel plots to trick Benedick and Beatrice into confessing their love, and Claudio into rejecting Hero. Dogberry, a Constable who thinks he's smarter than he is, discovers the villainous plot. Don John's treachery is revealed, the couples get each other, and everyone joins in a dance celebrating the marriages of the two couples.

Canyon Crest Academy Envision Theatre's upcoming production of "Les Miserables School Edition" runs March 21-29 at the CCA Proscenium Theatre. "Les Miserables School Edition" Directed by CCA Envision Theatre Coordinator Amy Blatt, will be performed entirely by 94 CCA students (50 in cast; 15 in crew; 29 in orchestra) from March 21-29th at the CCA Proscenium Theatre. Production team also includes Music Direction by Envision Creative Director-Anne Whattoff, Instrumental Music Coordinator-Amy Villanova, Technical Director/Set Designer-Jeremy Sewell, Costume Designer-Janet Pitcher, & Stage Manager-CCA Student Beatriz Pereira. Les Miserables School Edition is a musical by Alain Boubil & Claude-Michael Shonberg. School Edition specially adapted and licensed by Music Theatre International and Cameron Mackintosh Performance Dates/Times are: Friday, March 21st at 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 22 at 2 p.m.; Thursday, March 27 at 4 p.m.; Friday March 28 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 29 at 7 p.m. THE STORY: This epic story recounts the struggle against adversity in 19th century France. Imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread, petty thief Jean Valjean is released from his 19-year term and not only becomes and honest man, but the mayor of a prosperous town and a loving adoptive father - violating his parole in the process. The relentless Inspector Javert, who makes a decent life for Valjean impossible, consequently pursues him. Only years later, after Valjean proves his mettle during a bloody student uprising and saves the life of a young man hopelessly in love with Valjean's adopted daughter, does the ex-convict finally feel fully redeemed.
