Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas have both revealed that they both auditioned for the same role in the Wicked movie. The two Jonas Brothers stated that they unsuccessfully went up against each other for an unspecified part.

WICKED will fly to cities in England, Scotland, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland from December 2023 and producers today confirmed that the previously announced Laura Pick (Elphaba) will be joined by Carl Man as 'Fiyero', reuniting these two former Wicked West End cast members. The first footage of the Wicked movie was shown at CinemaCon in Las Vegas last night. Audio of 'Defying Gravity' and 'Popular' were played, giving attendees a first listen to Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo singing Stephen Schwartz's iconic music. New shots of Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard were also revealed.

After directing the Wicked movie musical, Jon M. Chu will helm a film adaptation of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for Amazon Studios. Also known for directing the hit comedy Crazy Rich Asians and the film adaptation of In the Heights, Chu has been 'dreaming' of directing the musical for years.

According to a new casting notice, the upcoming Wicked movie is authentically-casting a wheelchair user as Young Nessarose, a new character for the film. Marissa Bode will be playing Nessarose in the upcoming two-part film adaptation, also starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda.

Joining Grande as Glinda and Erivo as Elphaba is Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Ethan Slater as Boq, Michelle Yeoh and Jeff Goldblum as Madame Morrible and the Wizard, respectively, and Marissa Bode as Nessarose.

This re-imagining of David Mamet's 1980s hit play turns the dynamic on its head as the genders of the protagonists are reversed. Set in Hollywood where power is everything and morals are a commodity to be bought and sold, this production will examine the hierarchy from an alternative perspective. With two females as the movie executives and a younger male, the plot is given an entirely different context.
