Michael Musto, joined the Off Broadway Alliance's Nominating Committee this morning and announced this season's Off Broadway Alliance Award nominees.

Alliance Theatre has released the following statement about watching their production online: 

Following a previously announced one-week extension, Atlantic for Kids has announced additional performances for She Persisted, The Musical, a New York premiere musical with script and lyrics by Adam Tobin, music by Deborah Wicks La Puma, adapted from the book written by Chelsea Clinton and illustrated by Alexandra Boiger, published by Philomel Books, with music supervision by Macy Schmidt. Directed and choreographed by MK Lawson, additional performances have been added due to popular demand on Thursday, March 19th at 5:30pm, Saturday, March 21st at 2:00pm and Sunday, March 22nd at 2:00pm at Atlantic Theater Company's Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues).

Performances start next week for the Alliance Theatre's family production, NAKED MOLE RAT GETS DRESSED: THE ROCK EXPERIENCE, with book and lyrics by award-winning author and illustrator Mo Willems (Knuffle Bunny, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, the Elephant and Piggie series) and music by Deborah Wicks La Puma (Elephant and Piggie's: We Are In A Play, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus: The Musical).  Get a peek inside the first day of rehearsal!

Milwaukee Rep has announced the complete cast and creative teams for the final productions of the 2019/20 Season including the world premiere Antonio's Song / I Was Dreaming of a Son by Pulitzer Prize finalist Dael Orlandersmith and Antonio Edwards Suarez in the Stiemke Studio March 24 - April 5, 2020; the world premiere event Hootenanny: The Musicale by celebrated musician David Lutken in the Stackner Cabaret March 27 - May 24, 2020; and the telenovela of passion and deception Destiny of Desire by Karen Zacarías in the Quadracci Powerhouse April 21 - May 17, 2020.

Florida Repertory Theatre's Education Department is pleased to announce its 2020-2021 Season line-up for its Theatre Conservatory, Theatre for Young Audiences Touring Series, and its third offering for the 2021 Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta.

Next up on the Second Stage, The Players Club of Swarthmore's Children's Series presents, Elephant and Piggie's We Are in a Play. With book and lyrics by Mo Willems and music by Deborah Wicks La Puma, Elephant and Piggie's We Are in a Play is a rollicking adventure perfect for young audiences. Mo Willems' colorful Pigeon book series comes to life with Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! (The Musical) at Pepperdine University at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts.

Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) has secured worldwide licensing rights to the new musical She Persisted, The Musical.

Childsplay brings the hilarious musical, ELEPHANT AND PIGGIE'S WE ARE IN A PLAY to Herberger Theater Center. Based on Mo Willem's popular illustrated books, ELEPHANT AND PIGGIE'S 'WE ARE IN A PLAY' is filled with music reminiscent of the 60s Motown.

A great deal is packed into The Magical Piñata. There's a brief explanation of where Mexico's population comes from; a smattering of spoken Spanish and songs in both Spanish and English; pratfalls; a morality tale; and lots of laugher.

Keegan PLAY-RAH-KA, Keegan Theatre's brand for young people and families, presents THE MAGICAL PI?'ATA, a play with music for families this holiday season, playing December 14-30, 2019 at the Andrew Keegan Theatre in Washington, DC. The press opening is on December 15, 2019.  All performances are at 11:00 am and are Sensory Friendly, and the December 14 and 15 performances will be ASL interpreted.

A Twin Cities holiday tradition for many, this season marks the Guthrie's 45th production, making it the longest run of A Christmas Carol in regional theater history.
