The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA Los Angeles) is pleased to announce that writer, director, producer Jordan Peele, whose films Us and Get Out have created a new genre of socially-conscious horror, will receive The John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing. He joins previously announced honorees Jane Fonda, who will receive the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film Presented by Cunard, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who will receive the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year, Jackie Chan, who will receive the Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment, and Steve Coogan, who will receive the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy Presented by Jaguar Land Rover.
Kristen Stewart to Receive the Golden Eye Award at Zurich Film Festival

Kristen Stewart will be the recipient of the Zurich Film Festival's prestigious Golden Eye Award. Stewart will be in Zurich with director Benedict Andrews to celebrate her latest film SEBERG in which she plays the title character, Jean Seberg. The film receives its Swiss premiere on Wednesday October 2nd.

As the 2019 Summer Shakespeare Festival kicks off, The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team with As You Like It, the Bard's fabulously charming romantic comedy, whose heroine is one of his most remarkable creations. Director Jessica Stone's recent body of work-including Barefoot in the Park, Ken Ludwig's Robin Hood!, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, and Arms and the Man-has had Globe audiences rolling in the aisles. Her Shakespearean directing debut will run June 16 - July 21, 2019 outdoors under the stars in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale to the general public now. To Kill A Mockingbird, Aaron Sorkin's new play, directed by Bartlett Sher, and based on Harper Lee's classic novel, will launch its coast-to-coast National Tour in August 2020 at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in the heart of the nation's capital. The tour will be on the road for over two years. According to the Hollywood Reporter, stage and screen star Richard Thomas will lead the production as Atticus Finch.
