Bang on a Can: Other Primary Structures, a concert featuring Bang on a Can All-Stars Vicky Chow (piano) and David Cossin (percussion) with Dither Quartet guitarists Taylor Levine and James Moore, will take place at the Jewish Museum on Thursday, July 10 at 7:30pm. This program is the first auditorium concert of the Jewish Museum and Bang on a Can's new partnership to produce a series of dynamic musical performances at the Museum from June 2014 to May 2015, inspired by the Jewish Museum's diverse slate of exhibitions. Astoria, New York, June 18, 2014—Museum of the Moving Image announces its major film series and exhibitions for the summer. Highlights include a new exhibition and accompanying film series exploring the work of the legendary animation director Chuck Jones(opening July 19), films by Gustav Deutsch (July 25–27), See It Big! Hollywood Melodrama (August 2–31), films by Hong Kong producer, director, and actor Patrick Lung Kong, with Lung Kong and Tsui Hark in person (August 15–24), and a complete retrospective of Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-hsien (beginning September 12). Concept, Script, Direction, and Music Composition by Dr. Gowri Ramnarayan. Performance by Akhila Ramnarayan, Sheejith Krishna, Mythili Prakash, Gowri Ramnarayan. Indian classical vocals by Amritha Murali. Recognized as leaders for their virtuosity and originality in their fields, the artists created this production after a year of research in India. Performing to rave reviews in India, the production concludes its six city US tour at the Plaza Del Sol Performance Hall at California State University Northridge today, May 10, 2014. Richard Thomas & Kristen Connolly Set for The Old Globe's OTHELLO

The Old Globe today announced two of the stars of Shakespeare's classic tragedy Othello, the first show of the Globe's 2014 Summer Shakespeare Festival. Making their Globe debuts are Emmy Award-winner Richard Thomas ('The Americans,' 'The Waltons') as Iago and Kristen Connolly ('House of Cards,' The Cabin in the Woods) as Desdemona. Both artists continue collaborations with Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein that began in New York: Thomas starred in Edelstein's critically acclaimed production of Timon of Athens at The Public Theater in 2011, and Connolly in three Shakespeare plays that Edelstein helped produce at The Public. Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan Debuts in Seattle Tonight

Founded in 1973 by acclaimed choreographer Lin Hwai-min as the first contemporary dance company in any Chinese-speaking community, Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan features a repertoire rooted in Asian mythology, folklore, and aesthetics with a modern sensibility. Returning to the Northwest for the first time since Vancouver's 2010 Cultural Olympiad, the company makes their Seattle debut with Songs of the Wanderers, a visually stunning work inspired by Siddhartha's quest for enlightenment and brought to life on an astonishing set of 3-1/2 tons of shimmering golden grains of rice.
