The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced complete casting today for the world premiere of SOCRATES, written by acclaimed actor, director, and writer Tim Blake Nelson. Directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes and anchoring the Onassis Festival 2019: Democracy is Coming, SOCRATES will begin previews on Tuesday, April 2, with a Joseph Papp Free Preview performance on Wednesday, April 3 in The Public's Martinson Hall. This powerful new play runs through Sunday, May 19, with an official press opening on Tuesday, April 16.

In the tweet, Platt said, 'With a full heart, I can finally say that my debut album 'Sing To Me Instead' will be out in the world on 3/29. The first two songs will be out THIS FRIDAY 2/1, as well as a pre-order of the whole album. Let the story begin.'
Palm Springs International Film Festival Announces Festival Line-Up

The 30th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) announced that the festival's opening night will be the screening of All is True directed by Kenneth Branagh on Friday, January 4. The festival will close with Ladies in Black, directed by Bruce Beresford on Sunday, January 13. The Festival will screen 223 films from 78 countries, including 48 premieres (4 World, 13 North American and 31 U.S.) from January 3-14, 2019. The line-up includes a focus on cinema from France, India and Mexico, Premieres, Talking Pictures, Book to Screen, Special Presentations, FLOS: Foreign Language Oscar Submissions, Gay!La, Local Spotlight, Modern Masters, True Stories, World Cinema Now, a 30-film retrospective of selections from past festivals (free screenings sponsored by Desert Care Network and National Endowment for the Arts), and more.
Steel Panther's Bassist Lexxi Foxx Enters Sex Rehab

California rock and party legends Steel Panther have survived a career of living a decadent lifestyle surrounded by loud music, fast cars and beautiful women. That lifestyle of debauchery and proclivity towards random sexual encounters has finally caught up with the band's bassist. Lexxi Foxx has voluntarily checked himself in to an undisclosed sex rehab. He will have to miss the current US tour that recently kicked off in Chicago. The band's friend of over 30 years and backstage doorman Spyder will be filling in on bass for the upcoming tour dates. In his first shows since his UK debut in 2012, this tour will see the stand up bring his brand new live comedy show to Birmingham (Arena Birmingham), Manchester (O2 Apollo), Glasgow (SEC Armadillo) and two London shows at the Eventim Apollo this autumn.
