Scoop: WHITNEY on NBC - Wednesday, January 16, 2013 "HELLO GIGGLES"

01/16/2013 (08:00PM - 08:30PM) (Wednesday) : I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP - When Alex (Chris D'Elia) takes an accidental dive off stage while speaking at his alma mater, Whitney's (Whitney Cummings) reaction is less than heartwarming. Meanwhile, R.J. (Tone Bell) tries to school Mark (Dan O'Brien) on the art of chivalry using Lily (Zoe Lister-Jones) as an example. Roxanne (Rhea Seehorn), Mark's intended target doesn't initially take his bait.

NBC's multi-camera comedy "Whitney" is a hilarious look at modern day love, which centers around Whitney (Whitney Cummings, "Chelsea Lately") and Alex (Chris D'Elia, "Glory Daze"), a happily unmarried couple. Together for three years, the duo is in no rush to get hitched.

The couple is surrounded by their quirky group of friends, Zoe Lister-Jones ("The Other Guys"), Rhea Seehorn ("The Starter Wife"), Dan O'Brien ("How I Met Your Mother"), and Tone Bell (new to the second season of the show).

At the end of the day, Whitney and Alex realize that while their relationship might not be perfect on paper, they really do love each other -- and that works for them.

The series is produced by Universal Television and Bluegrass Television. The executive producers are Scott Stuber ("The Breakup"), Quan Phung, Wil Calhoun ("Friends") and Barry Katz ("Last Comic Standing") are executive producers along with Cummings who is the executive producer/writer and Andy Ackerman ("Seinfeld") who is executive producer/director.
