This morning on "LIVE with Kelly and Michael," hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan sat down with Academy Award winner and "American Idol" alumna Jennifer Hudson.

Hudson spoke about her latest role on the NBC series "Smash," and also weighed in on what she thinks of the new judges on "American Idol." Check out the photo from this morning's appearance below!

"I'm happy that Mariah is there because she's a singer," she said, "So she knows what to expect, how to judge, even the position the kids are in when they're auditioning." As for what's next for Hudson, "as far as film, I would like to do comedy one day. And music, I would like to write more. So, on my next album I'm gonna write more, and just be more involved musically."
