GRAMMYS Misspell Cory Monteith's Name During Special Tribute
During the annual 'In Memoriam' segment of the Grammy Awards broadcast live on CBS last night, the name of late Glee star Cory Monteith was misspelled, with the 'e' and 'i' of his last name being reversed. Angry Glee fans immediately took to Twitter to express their outrage at the error.
Tweeted one fan, "Dear Recording Academy, it's 2014 & no one has spell check? His name is Cory MONTEITH!!! Fire the fact check clerk!"
The actor passed away on July 13th following an accidental drug overdose. Finn Hudson, his character on the FOX musical dramedy, also perished in a special episode of the current season titled 'The Quarterback.' According to recent reports, his death will be addressed again in the show's upcoming 100th episode, airing this March.
Paris Barclay, the director of the milestone episode explained to US Weekly, "I don't think it could go much farther without continuing to talk about how that hurts. There is so much feeling there and it affected the Glee family in such a profound way, and you can expect it to be dealt with in the 100th episode. It definitely comes back and is dealt with in a significant way."
