Amanda Seyfried Cast in FATHERS AND DAUGHTERS
Variety reports that Amanda Seyfried has been cast in the role of Russell Crowe's daughter in Gabriele Muccino's FATHERS AND DAUGHTERS. The drama will film on location in New York.
Crowe and Keith Rodger will executive produce the project via their Fear of God production company, along with Romilda De Luca. Andrea Leone Films will also co-produce.
The script was penned by Brad Desch and is described as "a love story between a father and daughter living 25 years apart in New York City. Crowe will take on the role of "a famous novelist and widower struggling with mental illness as he tries to raise his 5-year-old daughter. Seyfried will play the modern-day version of the daughter as she continues to struggle with "the aftermath of her troubled childhood."
Seyfried made her film debut in Mean Girls. Her subsequent supporting roles were in independent films, such as Nine Lives (2005) and Alpha Dog (2006) and she also had a recurring role in the UPN TV show Veronica Mars (2004-2006). Between 2006 and 2011, she starred on the HBO series Big Love. After that, Seyfried appeared in her breakthrough role in the 2008 musical feature film Mamma Mia!. Her other appearances include leading roles in Jennifer's Body (2009), Chloe (2009), Dear John (2010), Letters to Juliet (2010), Red Riding Hood (2011),In Time (2011) and Gone (2012). She played Cosette in the musical film LES MISERABLES. She was most recently seen in 'Lovelace.'
