Take Five! Spend Your Afternoon Coffee Break with Broadway's Newest Javert, Hayden Tee

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, New Zealand native Hayden Tee will assume the role of Javert beginning tonight, January 29 in Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new Broadway production of Claude-Michel Schönberg & Alain Boublil's Les Miserables, now in its second year at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Tee comes directly to Broadway from the new Australian production of Les Miserables, for which he has received wide acclaim. He was recently named Best Actor in A Musical at the Sydney Theatre Awards for his performance as Javert.

Born in New Zealand and trained at Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA), Hayden Tee has appeared in a number of productions including originating the role of Jack Worthing in the world premiere of the new musical Being Earnest written by Paul Gordon. Other credits include Edward Rutledge in 1776 , Cinderella's Prince/ Wolf in Into the Woods, King Arthur in Camelot, Freddy Einsford Hill In My Fair Lady and Captain Hook / Mr Darling in Peter Pan. Hayden appeared as Marius in the 20th Anniversary West End production of Les Miserables, Thomas Andrews in Titanic: The Musical, Professor Bhaer in Little Women The Musical, Lt. Joe Cable in South Pacific, the tours of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, Songs for a New World, The Wizard of Oz and created the role of Cuddlepie in the workshop of The Adventures of Snugglepot and cuddlepie.

Hayden made his opera debut in 2007 appearing in the Australian production of Dead Man Walking in the lead tenor role of Father Grenville. He has toured internationally as Simon Stride and as standby for the title roles in Jekyll and Hyde. He played Freddy Einsford-Hill in Opera Australia's production of My Fair Lady, Bustopher Jones/Gus/Growltiger in Cats and Grumio in Kiss Me Kate.
