Photo Coverage: NYC High School Students Arrive for HAMILTON's Next #EduHam!

Yesterday marked the next #EduHam, a series of Hamilton Wednesday matinees made available to New York City schools with a high concentration of students from low-income families for the ticket price of only $10. We're taking you inside the special day below!

As reported by BroadwayWorld, Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and creatorLin-Manuel Miranda, The Rockefeller Foundation president Judith Rodin, NYC Department of Education Chancellor Carmen Fariña and Gilder Lehrman executive director Lesley Herrmann announced in October this educational partnership to provide 20,000 NYC public school students with the opportunity to see Hamilton on Broadway and integrate the show into classroom studies. This educational initiative is made possible through a $1.46 million grant by The Rockefeller Foundation to Gilder Lehrman.

The action at the Richard Rodgers Theatre began early, with performances by the students themselves and a Q&A session with cast members.

The cast of Hamilton is comprised of Lin-Manuel Miranda (Alexander Hamilton), Daveed Diggs(Marquis De Lafayette,Thomas Jefferson), Renée Elise Goldsberry (Angelica Schuyler),Christopher Jackson (George Washington), Rory O'Malley (King George), Jasmine Cephas Jones (Peggy Schuyler, Maria Reynolds), Javier Muñoz (Hamilton alternate), Okieriete Onaodowan(Hercules Mulligan, James Madison), Leslie Odom, Jr. (Aaron Burr),Anthony Ramos (John Laurens,Philip Hamilton) and Phillipa Soo (Eliza Hamilton).

George Washington,Thomas Jefferson, Eliza Hamilton, and lifelongHamiltonfriend and foe, Aaron Burr, all attend this revolutionary tale of America's fiery past told through the sounds of the ever-changing nation we've become. Tony Award nominee Thomas Kail directs this new musical about taking your shot, speaking your mind, and turning the world upside down.

Thirteen hundred students from New York City public schools gathered for a 'Hamilton' Matinee performance on Broadway for the inauguration of an unprecedented partnership between the producers and creator of the musical Hamilton, The Rockefeller Foundation, the Gilder Lehrman Institute and the NYC Department of Education the Richard Rodgers Theatre on May 11, 2016 in New York City.
