Meryl Streep Praises Iconic three-time Academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep had nothing but high praise for the accomplished assortment of actors assembled for the stage-to-screen adaptation of Tracy Letts's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY at the red carpet premiere earlier this week.

Discussing her co-stars, Streep said, "This group of people is so extraordinary - each one of them defended their characters in the most fierce and wonderful way."

"I am so proud to be in it with them and proud of their achievement - each one of them brought it," Streep added.

As for how she got into the skin of such an outrageous and cruel character as Violet Weston along with the company of strong females, Streep relates, "You just allow yourself to be in their hands for a certain number of precarious minutes every day and it is thrilling because everyone is so committed and dedicated, and funny."

"Oh, my God, are they funny!" Streep added with a characteristic concluding comedic flourish.
