Chris Isaacson Presents and Upright Cabaret have announced that native Angeleno and Broadway star Mandy Gonzalez will welcome the new year by coming home to make her Los Angeles solo concert debut. Directed by Eric Michael Gillett with musical direction by Brian J. Nash, there will be two shows: Tonight, January 27, and Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 8:30pm at the Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood.

Mandy Gonzalez possesses one of the most powerful and versatile contemporary voices on Broadway. She made her Broadway debut in Dance of the Vampires starring opposite Michael Crawford and is currently best known for her emotional portrayal of Nina Rosario in the Tony Award-winning musical In the Heights, a role she created Off Broadway at 37 Arts. Most recently, she starred as Elphaba in Wicked, and her other Broadway roles have included Princess Amneris in Aida and multiple roles (including John Lennon) in Lennon. Gonzalez appeared Off Broadway in Eli's Comin', a show based on the music and lyrics of Laura Nyro, and received overwhelming critical praise and an Obie Award for her performance. Film credits include Across the Universe, After, and Man on a Ledge" and on television she has been seen on White Collar, The Good Wife, 666 Park Avenue, Third Watch, and One Life to Live. Native Angeleno Gonzalez performs concerts across the U.S. and around the world and with these Los Angeles concerts finally comes home! Her debut CD is expected in 2015.

Brian J. Nash has been music directing and orchestrating for the theatre since the age of 16. Most recently he was the music director and orchestrator of the off-Broadway hit SILENCE! The Musical, and produced Bare at New World Stages. Other recent theatre projects include The Last 5 Years (Asolo Rep), A Night In Seville (Epic Theatre Ensemble), Crossing Brooklyn (Transport Group), Writing Arthur and Something's Wrong With Amandine at TheatreWorks New Works Festival in Palo Alto, CA. Nash has recently performed at Town Hall, Birdland, and Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, and at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

The talented musicians Nash is bringing to Catalina for Gonzalez's concerts are Kiel Feher on drums, Ben Shepard on bass guitar, and Latin Grammy Award-nominee Kay-Ta Matsuno on guitar.
