This year's Summer Drama Adventure for children ages 7 - 9 is themed, "Wildcat Escapades!" Rambunctious characters and gigantic imaginations welcome! A group of friends leap into their magical closet and journey off on a series of wildly adventurous capers. Like Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz and Narnia, this summer's theatrical extravaganza will help build memorable experiences as well as good friends. Come discover creative ways to perform the zany characters and bone tickling tales.

The 'Tween Scene for children ages 10 - 13 takes tweens on a "Journey Beyond Story" theme. Tweens will ponder the questions "What if...you got lost inside a story? What if...the story characters needed you? What if...you could reimagine the story as you wish it to be? What would the story become?" They'll create a dramatic journey with HTY's own professional artists. They'll decide the what, who and why as they bring to life a story that hides inside.

At both the Summer Drama Adventure and the Tween Scene, daily sessions are filled with dramatic adventure-movement, theatre games and creative exploration. Working with HTY professional artists and actors, students will develop their skills as performers and artists while strengthening team-building and creative problem solving and skills. Through these theatre programs, students will discover creative ways to perform original stories on the HTY Tenney Theatre stage.

Honolulu Theatre for Youth is Hawaii's non-profit professional theatre company providing theatre and drama education programs that make a difference in the lives of Hawaii's young people and families. Founded in 1955, HTY is recognized the world over as one of America's most honored theatres. Explore HTY on the web at www.htyweb.org.
