Due to popular demand for summer action-movie/Shakespeare mash-ups, Gary Busey's One-Man Hamlet as Performed by David Carl extends its critically acclaimed run into June and July with five additional performances 10:30 p.m. Saturdays June 4 & 25; 9 p.m. Thursday, June 30 & Saturdays, July 9 & July 30. The New York Times recently called the show "deliciously deranged...a head-spinning performance!" The acclaimed production heads to the Chicago Shakespeare Theater in mid-July for the Shakespeare 400 celebrations.

As Shakespearean actor, puppeteer, singer and action-movie director, Gary Busey (played by New York actor-writer David Carl) performs each scene of Hamlet his own way, with occasional detours across Busey's IMDB page from Buddy Holly to Lethal Weapon. The heady mix of high and low-brow comedy celebrates Shakespeare's classic by using it to reflect upon the jaded, celebrity-crazed, meme-obsessed world around us.
