Special Guest Cynthia Nixon will join Music Director George Rothman and Riverside Symphony in the orchestra's season finale on Wednesday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall. Nixon, one of only 14 artists to win Emmy, Tony and Grammy Awards, will narrate Francis Poulenc's charming musical adaptation of the beloved children's tale The Story of Babar, the Little Elephant.

The world premiere of The Tree Without End by American composer Evan Hause reflects a more abstract take on children's literature, as Hause's colorful, deeply expressive new work-a Riverside Symphony commission-was inspired by a French picture book in which a tree represents the circle of life.

In a Riverside Symphony encore appearance, the riveting Shai Wosner, critically acclaimed for performances with the Chicago Symphony and Cleveland Orchestra, will be featured in Beethoven's poetic Piano Concerto No. 4 in G.

This concert is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council, and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
