Broadway Global Names Dale Badway 'Producer of the Year'
Mr. Badway is excited by being recognized by Broadway Global as Producer of the year, "I am extremely honored and proud to receive the Broadway Global Producer of the Year Award. I was delighted to be nominated, but to win is ExtraOrdinary! As Producers, we try to find great works by great writers and then bring them to life through amazing talents and hope audiences share in the love we put forth. We also try to discover the next great generation of artists. The creators and dreamers of tomorrow; the people who make life worth living. The actors, musicians, writers, designers, singers, dancers and anyone bringing beauty, happiness and life to this world with their talents. I believe Social Media plays a tremendous role in the future of Broadway, Theatre, and the Entertainment Industry as a whole. Through this massive resource of unlimited reach, the hearts and minds of countless people can share in the beauty of the Arts in real time, inspiring many to become involved. And giving them hope and inspiration that they can. That it IS possible. As President of the Theatre World Awards, which since 1944 honors 6 Actors and 6 Actresses annually for outstanding Broadway or Off Broadway debut, I see the delight, joy, and total fulfillment the Arts bring to those inspired and determined enough to follow their dreams, no matter what! I would like to thank my wonderful business partners, Michael Alden and Ken Mahoney. I would also like to thank the entire Extra-Ordinary Cast, Crew, and Creative of Broadway's PIPPIN. And of course Richard Cameron and everyone with Broadway Global! One last credo I live by everyday: Don't die with your music still inside of you."
Last years winner Producer Jordan Scott Gilbert (Ghost) was on hand to pass on the honor said, "I'm honored to present Dale Badway with the 2nd annual Broadway Producer Of The Year Award, for which I was thrilled to be the first ever recipient of last year. Very few know what it takes to bring a show to Broadway. This award, along with the Tony Award, lends much needed recognition to Producers who work day and night to perpetuate our billion dollar Broadway industry."
A rousing speech was also delivered by Angela Robinson (Tyler Perry's The haves and the have nots, Color Purple) stating there are peaks and valleys in producing any show, and few outside of the business understand the valleys, lets recognize the valleys, the strength, and dedication it takes to succeed when we are in the valleys.
Broadway Global Owner Richard Cameron said, " Dale Badway was chosen by the over 180, 000 Theatre chat voters all over the world. Social media is the future of producing. Checking the pulse of what the people, at large, want to see and hear. Mr. Badway has made himself accessible through Social media to the artist that might not be able to communicate with and major producer. It's not only the Broadway Producers that are eligible to receive recognition from Broadway Global but any producer any where in the world that has the want and need to reach out and create art. Future generations will look back and be inspired by our steps at global connection to create art for art."
The Broadway Global award "Producer's Puzzle" was designed by award winning Steve Marshall. Mr. Marshall supports "Smile Train," an international charity that provides cleft palate surgery to those in need, as well as providing training to doctors. Steve donates a portion of the profits from his artwork to this charity.
